I didn't backup this folder. So i will install again and backup before upgrade.

Use the OSx86 tool of pcwiz. And read some more on the basics of whats going on.

See, without knowing what your doing you end up with wasting a lot of time on reinstalling and frustration.

Hello everyone, I just joined the forum and I found you all while searching for info on why the "other" forum was down Anyway, I upgraded from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 probably half a dozen times over the last few days and I finally got it somewhat usable. Right now I have 2 (possibly 3) issues so far.

1.) My ethernet adapter is not working (worked fine in 10.5.6, I'm using the Marvell 88E8056 controller).

2.) My sound does not work (before I tried updating the first time, I at least had stereo sound in 10.5.6 which was acceptable). Also, with this, before my first attempt at updating blew up, I was using ADI_AD2000b.pkg for my sound, and I was able to get stereo, but after trying this in 10.5.7, I get nothing, and no devices show up under the Sound options in the system preferences.

3.) File transfers over USB to an external hard drive are "slow" (seemed to be normal in 10.5.6 but didn't check with this particular drive, was planning on using it for Time Machine).

My audio adapter is not displayed in the list, but my motherboard is an Asus P5Q-E. My other specs are:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
4GB OCZ DDR2 800
1GB Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 (connected to a 42" 120hz Vizio with a DVI to HDMI cable)

If anyone can help me figure out at least the sound and network issue, I would be very appreciative. Also, I did a clean install with iPC 10.5.6 and updated using the combo update from Apple's website. For the record, I installed the latest Natit.pkg that was posted on Netkas.org to get video working (which did NOT work immediately following the update, I had a corrupted screen, but was able to get VESA when booting with the "-x" flag to get to safe mode).
