Thumbs down 10.5.8 Update resulted in garbled screen

I installed the kalway 10.5.2 amd distro on my hackintosh, which worked well. Then I installed the latest voodoo kernel. After that I decided to update to 10.5.8. I made sure to take all the necessary precautions, and the update worked perfectly. The only problem was that my mouse was incredibly laggy and inverted, and my keyboard didn't work. So I restored the backup of my kexts from before the update, which fixed my mouse problem but created a new one. Now, when everything is finished booting and it's going to the desktop, my screen becomes all garbled like in the attached screenshot. I don't think this is because of my video drivers because I removed nvinject which I was using before and tried the chameleon graphics detection thing, but it resulted in the same issue. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Specs:
MSI 8600 GT 512mb
4gb ddr2 667 ram
msi k9nu neo-v mobo
athlon x2 4600+ 2.4 GHz

Thanks!

Yes, it works in safe mode, but I don't think I have video card acceleration. The 3d website browser in safari is extremely laggy for example.

So basically you updated from 10.5.2 to 10.5.8 and your get this problem. Did you try to install any graphics injector kext like NVinject or EFI strings?

Do you remember how you got your graphics card support previously?

We should be able to correct this without too much work.

I used the nvinject 512mb driver from the kalway install, which worked in the first place. Then after the update it continued to work, but when I restored my extensions this problem happened, even though nvinject should theoretically be the same. I tried replacing nvinject with the latest version from the website, but that didn't work either.

You restored all or certain extensions from 10.5.2

Have you removed nvinject and extensions.mkext cache and restarted with -f

Just curious if you boot fine without nvinject

I restored all of them.
Yeah I currently have nvinject removed and am using the graphics detection thing in chameleon. And I've also tried booting with -f several times. Nothing

Also just to clarify, video worked perfectly after the 10.5.8 update, it only broke after I restored the extensions.

Update- Ok, I just re-ran the update to undo my kext restore and now I'm back to what I was before: video is working, but my keyboard isn't and my mouse is very laggy. Also when I move the mouse up, the cursor goes down and vice versa. Both mouse and keyboard were working fine on 10.5.2. Are there any ways to fix this?

I'm using a ps2 keyboard and USB mouse. After the update I restored basically the entire extensions folder from 10.5.2 which was probably a stupid idea, so I ran the update again and undid that.

Also the mouse works fine for a couple seconds after booting, but then it becomes laggy and after that, inverted.

And it seems like video effects are really laggy as well, like magnification in the dock and minimizing windows is very choppy.

Ok I managed to get my keyboard to work, but I still have the problem with laggy mouse and video. Both were working perfectly before the update. For video, I've tried nvinject, efi strings and the chameleon GraphicsEnabler.

Also quartz extreme says it's supported, but video is still laggy.
