AMD Phenom BE 1 core recognized is this the norm?

Hey guys first post here, and I have to say there is a wealth of info on this board. Without all of you I would not have such an awsome system to be using right now.

I have a question to ask, first some sys specs.

AMD Phenom 9850 BE
MSI K9A2 Platinum 790FX
4 gig ram
sata had
I had tried to install 4 diff distros and I cant for the life of me remember which one I have installed.
10.5.4

Every thing is running great. I was just wondering if it is the norm for the system to only recognize one core in the system.

As for everything else ....its working just fine.
