FYI, You can't eject a disk using the drive button since real macs don't have one. I have a Apple Keyboard and press the eject button on that.

On non apple keyboards I believe you can press and hold F12 to open the drive. Otherwise there is a unused drive eject app called Eject.menu in /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/
Hmm? Mine works perfectly with both buttons, F12 and the DVD eject button
