FYI: This kind of problem happened to me all the time in Windows. In Windows, it is a known issue that nForce ATA drivers cause the BSOD when copying large files. May be a problem related to the nForce drivers, although in Leopard 10.5.2 and Linux I didn't have this issue at all...

My Mobo is an ASRock 939NF6G-VSTA.

Good luck in your search (maybe you should try the nForce drivers that came with 10.5.1? I don't know if there's a difference...)

cpu=1 isn't the problem and I had down clocked my cpu

I get them less frequent but still. When Time Machine backs up I get a kernel panic (large file size)

I'm gonna try to install the nforce kexts from 10.5.1
