Hello all,
I'm relatively new to this whole Hackintosh thing, but I love the idea and am all for the project. Here's the problem I'm having: - Installed Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel/AMD from torrent - Normal boot: seems to be doing just fine UNTIL I get this error message: IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out - Safe mode: works fine except no sound or Internet (I'm going to postpone that issue until I can boot normally) I've looked this up in a couple of different places, and I've made some changes to BIOS to follow every other guide I've seen. Specifically, I've disabled HPET. (The other changes didn't seem to apply to my hardware or weren't available in BIOS.) Here's what my system looks like: Mobo: Asus M2N32SLI-Deluxe (with wifi) Processor: AMD 64 5600+ dual core Graphics: nVidia 7300GT (512MB cache; when I was installing Kalyware, I used NVInject 512) RAM: 2x1GB Corsair DDR2 HDD: Maxtor 250GB SATA (doesn't seem to have any problems, but I'm just posting this in case you know something I don't) Audio: onboard the motherboard, but I'm pretty sure it's AC97, which I have the kext for but which doesn't load in safe mode? (my audio hardware doesn't show up) Also, since I got into safe mode, I've attached the System Profiler report. Any help than can be given would be GREATLY appreciated. |

You need to start at the beginning... There's a LOT of hardware on your MB - just a quick look at newegg.com reveals:
- nForce 590 SLI MCP chipset (check to see what support it has - SLi chipsets can also be problematic) - 2 LAN adapters (the infamous "nforce networking adapter" and a gigabit Marvell) - NV RAID and an Sil 3132 ?? - ADi1988b audio - you may find support for this one but it can wait until you're out of safe mode - doesn't say what WIFI chipset is used Personally, I would disable and/or remove everything but absolutely essential hardware, boot using -f, and see if you get into the OSx86 Desktop. If you do, start adding hardware back in until something breaks it again. Your LAN adapters may need special attention (I'd disable them right off the bat). Hope you're not using RAID. Audio won't stop the install. WIFI might. The main chipset may need the proper .kext to make it work as it should... Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine... |
