This will give you a system with generic lo-res video, sound, ethernet, usb mount, DVD. In essence, a fully working system sans hi-res video. (sleep will not work. Look up the fix for this elsewhere. I saw it somewhere, but have not put that fix into my system yet.) Go to Applications and start EFIStudio and fix your video. Reboot, restarting with -f.
Run OSx86 Tools and enable Quartz GL, and modify your About this Mac if you like. (careful not to put too many characters. I think I did and mine is messed up. No big for me as I will reproduce this load to my first hd partition before blessing it as my "Golden" install. This good install in on hd2 currently for stress testing and mods.)
So that is it. I Browse,ITune, I Rip Audio, run Xbench, with a score of 167 BTW, play DVD, use PhotoBooth (my daughter and my favorite), Download in Safari, Download in Torrent, mount .dmg's, connect USB devices. No issues so far, except for the aforementioned sleep issue. Good luck with your install.
