Hey,

I installed 10.5.2 Rev 1. just fine on my Dell Inspiron 1501, it takes a while to boot up to it though, almost acts like it freezes. But i have no audio, maybe i forgot a kext? I am just unsure as to which one i need. As for my graphics, i cannot choose a different resolution, the only one available is 1024x768.

Chipset
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Northbridge ATI Xpress 200 (RS480) rev. 10
Southbridge ATI SB600 rev. 00
Memory Type DDR2
Memory Size 2048 MBytes
Channels Dual
Memory Frequency 249.4 MHz (CPU/8)
CAS# 4.0
RAS# to CAS# 4
RAS# Precharge 4
Cycle Time (tRAS) 12
Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 17
Command Rate 1T

Also is there anyway to increase my Xbench score? It came out to a 66.7, Its pretty bad.

I had came across that, but not sure if those steps can be used in 10.5.2, since that guide is for Tiger.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You wont get help with a graphics card unless you tell people what it is!
You cant expect people to look up Dell Inspiron 1501 to help you.

Excuse my ignorance, It is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150.

When i booted with -v, it hung at
Configid[44]: InterfaceNumber: Timed out for waiting for IOKit to Quiesce
for like 5 minutes.

it looks like your sound card is supported, you need sigmatel 9220.pkg
Unfortunatly I don't have a link for it perhaps someone else on here could tell you where to aquire it.

Well booting with -x (Safe mood) Helped the boot time greatly, But i tried searching for the Sigmatel 9220.pkg, i had found it but they removed it from the server or something..
If anyone has that package and is willing to upload to this server so everyone can have it that would be nice

But again, my graphics card is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150, is there a fix for it somewhere?

Thanks a lot eddie11c. Now to just fix my graphics. :|

Ok, i installed the .pkg, rebooted, Still no sound.. any help?

I tried installing it again and still no luck :/

Also, is there a way to change the resolution manually? My laptop is widescreen, and its distorting the current resolution, making everything blurry..
