MainMenu -> Finder -> Show Invisibles. Comes in very handy to have it be that quick. Of course there are other ways to show hidden files but this is just preference.

Actually Ill have to take a look at this. I know I recommend the Dashboard Widget but to tell the truth that and the calculator the only Widgets I use. Im not a real big fan of the Dashboard.
