You said that the lag was noticeably different from your last ethernet adapter right? So therefore, it could simply be your connection. Check for any loose cables, and make sure your ethernet card is properly configured with the right connection settings like automatically DHCP, etc. Did you disable your onboard LAN, NVIDIA AND YUKON MARVELL, if applicable?
