iPC Noob on Dell X300
I installed iPC 10.5.6 on my Dell X300 laptop. It's about 5 years old, and didn't have any issues taking the installation. I keep getting kernel panics and don't know how to get around them. I did a -v and tried -legacy and nothing works. The line it freezes at is:
"using 5898 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" It's an Intel Centrino @ 1.2GHz, 1 GB RAM, 120GB HDD. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. DKV Update: I've tried reinstalling several times using different Kernels and so far I still get the same thing with each kernel. I've tried doing a bland install with no drivers and same thing. Maybe it's my laptop? Not sure. "When in doubt, overclock!! If that doesn't work, overclock some more!! If all else fails throw it out the window and be done with it!!" - Anon. CPU: AMD Phenom 9850BE @ 3.0GHz Motherboard: ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe Ram: 8GB DDR2-800 @ 860MHz Hard Disk: 2x500GB SATA2 (RAID 0), 2x250 SATA2 (RAID 0) Graphics Card: 2xATI Radeon HD 3870 PSU: Antec TPQ-1000 Case: Modded Antec 900 Last edited by Darkvette; 02-19-2009 at 01:07 PM. |
