Exclamation iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Post-Install help? HP Pavilion a6357c Desktop PC

Hey guys, this is my first post and have searched for answers but can't seem to find any Anyways i'm a newbie at this *sorry* lol but usually pick up on things pretty quick. I have been playin and playin with installing this for the past three days. And frankly i'm just getting fustrated!

All started a few days ago when a friend told me about Leopard being available for PC... So i searched craigslist and bought a lisence (just for supportive reasons) and went ahead and downloaded iPC OSx86 Universal FINAL 10.5.6. I was told it was a tricky install and you have to know EVERY hardware component you have so i used EVEREST Ultimate to determine everything I have.

So I jotted down all the specs I could find and found the appropriate drivers in the install to use (as far as I could tell) and have been failing Miserably!! I've only had a successful install once and that was by just using a kernal and chipset driver. The other times it either hangs up at the white apple screen with the scroller, get a blue screen that stays or a grey screen that i can move my mouse around in but nothing ever happens, I DID however manage to have a successful install to the point where it gets past all that (after long waitings at the mentioned above screens) where it goes to the little video thing, but then get stuck at the "Before you begin.. Keyboard not connected" screen where My keyboard and mouse doesn't work.

The blue screen seems to come more when I pick the NVidia drivers i've noticed. not sure whats up with that.. Anyhow i'll get to my Computer info, hardware specs, and install options i've chosen.

Original Options chosen ->
9.5.0 Voodoo Kernal
NVInject 256mb

nForce Lan
Patched USB Drivers
Seatbelt.kext
Few selected apps

Latest Tried ->

AppleNForceATA Chipset
ALC888 Sound
nForce Lan
Patched USB Drivers
Seatbelt.kext
Sata Drive Icon fix (NEW)
IOPCIFamily fix
IOPCMCIA fix

All Apps

I have tried many different combos and the only way i got it to go fully into it at all was with this setup, and still had weird issues getting into it. ->

-9.5.0 Voodoo Kernal
-nVidia MCP67 Chipset
no other options picked..

SOOOO after babbling so much I hope I may get some help with this lol.. If there is a solution to any of these problems i apologize for posting and please direct me in the right way.. I REALLY appreciate any help! THANKS!! (My name is Mike by the way =))

Have you tried any other distros?

Your specs look like they should work fine to me ( with minor tweaks of course ).

Give Kalyway a shot if the others don't work for you.
Yes, it's not up to date, but that's no biggie anymore, at least not after you install the Voodoo kernel.

Hello,

i think iPC is a good choice. Lets take a look.

First of all u should ONLY install this Kext/Fixes u realy need. Everthing else u can install after u have a running OSX installation.

i would suggest that u install iPC with Voodoo Kernel, SeatbeltFix,Chipset Driver.
This should bring u to the OSX Welcome Screen. Did u have a PS/2 MOuse/Keyboard or USB ?
When u have USB make sure your Bios is Set to USB Leagcy Mode. When this does not work try another USB Port. Sometimes only 1 USB Hub work.

Then, when u have a runnning OSX, ,we should take care of the rest

Hey guys, thanks for the reply.. I've tried the iDeneb distro with no luck at all (wouldn't even boot into installation). also, how would i go about installing kexts after its installed? Cause like i mentioned, if i choose just to install the kernal and chipset drivers, i can get it to load without any problems.

I have USB Keyboard and mouse, (I also have PS/2 set that i have tried) and have tried changing ports and everything else. And I believe i am in legacy mode because i was able to use them with the successful install i had with the bare minimums.

Thanks for all your help!!

Use Ps/2 Keyboard with teh PS/2 patch. Its ok. However searching for the blue screen still on Nvidia 8400gs, use nvinject default [not the 512MB].

"Could not create folder..."

I ran into no problems through the entire process, until it was starting to install after setup. I ran into a failed install because 'Could not create the folder, "/Volumes/Untitled/BaseSystem.pkg.133QK4A51" '

What does this mean? Do I need to format my hard drive from my other computer or what?
