Use BOOT-132 CD. Read here how to create it and boot from it:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=140683

On first successful boot from HDD install Chameleon bootloader and Voodoo Kernel.

Waiting for root device means OS X cannot find either the installation DVD or the destination partition. That means the Storage Controller your board has is not supported in the distros you have tried. You should start by researching which specific SATA & IDE storage controller your motherboard has, and then try to find a distro that has support for your chipset.

As thorazine74 said, do some research into what SATA and/or IDE controllers that you have. Post it here and then maybe we can suggest which distribution you should use.

Thats not really helpful, you need to know specific low-level details about your hardware if you want to go any further. Try looking the manufacturer's page for specs or using Everest software for windows for hardware detection.

Can you give us the detailed name and model of your motherboard along with the manufacturer of it?
