I have a nforce 4 board and all my sata hds are there in disk utility
try booting the cd with -f , make sure you delete all the partitions on the hd you can do this with a windows install disk. The disk should just have free space on it, although my ntfs partitioned drives still show up.

Above you didn't mention if you mb was a nforce chipset , this install is mainlly for nforce chipsets, they are different from having a nvidia graphics.
