Ready to update?

Ok I've edited the file and made my *mach_kernel.voodoo my boot(*9.5.0). I've got an unedited copy of the normal 10.5.7 update, should I remove the mach_kernel from the update using Pacifist? or is OK for me to go ahead and update, also are there any special commands I should use in terminal during the update? like delete the AppleCPUIntelPower.kext or something?
