small issue/question about installed apps on lawlessPPC

So I have lawlessPPC installed and running beautifully except a couple snags. I have retail copies of both iWork and iLife. How do I go about installing these? I tried installing them like normal but when I launch GarageBand I get a coreaudio error as well as when I launch iwork, keynote will not launch and I haveto force quit and pages and number both launch and pop up a windows that looks like the app but the screen is all white and can't do anything within the window. So how do I go Bout installing these apps? Thanks a lot for the suppor and great leopard build.

P.S. Any good work around for an ati radeon 4850 running at full res? Thanks again

Have you installed the latest updates for these? If i remember rightly they need updating to work with Leopard.

you mean to install from the retail disc and then use apple software update? Is there a special way I need to install from the disc? Do I need to patch them in some way?

Yep, after installing from the retail disk use Apple Software Update to update them. They should be safe to update - if you still get problems it's probably worth running Marvins on the drive.

and I have to do that from another os x partition correct? I can't do it from within my current install?

Another question, what exactly does the amd patcher do?

Nope you don't need another partition, you can do it fine from safe mode.

First create your patcher package using Marvins and copy it to the root of your drive. Reboot, press F8 while booting and then type:

Code:
-s
cd /patches
./patcher ./cpuid.txt
exit
If you're refering to the AMD Patcher which Zeph has just released for beta testing, it checks install packages for CPUIDs and patches them so that they will operate on your AMD system.

thanks for the help I really appreciate it. One last question i think.I'm confuse when you said to make a margins package. What exactly do you mean or can you point me to a tutorial that has a step by step on how to do that? And I should be able to do software updates via apple with no issues? how do marvins and amd patcher differ? Thanks again.

As an AMD owner you shouldn't use Apple Software Update for updating anything to do with the OS itself (at least for now...).

It's best to use Zeph's AMD Software Update as this patches CPUIDs and removes any dangerous kexts etc that might harm your system.

Marvins is used for patching post installation.

Hmm, from what I can remember iWork never needed patching. What exactly happens when you try launching it - does it just unexpectedly quit?
