There is a way - boot in a single user mode ( -s ), mount your drive ( mount -uw / ) and them browse to /System/Library/Extensions/ and remove graphic kexts ( rm xxx.kext ), yet i cant tell you what kexts exactly because i dont know what card your laptop has.
