Sound cuts out when i playing music or start itunes or open any other programs.
I have update my 10.5.6 to 10.5.7,the sound card is alc888
I don't know how to solve it |

i had the same problem, never knew what was wrong. it was a problem with a dodgy soundcard kext, i found the only way to fix it was pause itunes close whatever program you have open other then itunes and click on the desktop and toggle the sound on and off via a mute button or sound up button on the keyboard until you hear something come out again. and it seems to only happen when you pause the tracks so from now on dont pause, just mute. annoying i know but i couldnt find any fix for it. what soundcard do you have? i think i had an ALC850 card...now im running on a motherboard on a retail install so im all laughs

I have Alc888 card.
Do you think whether the Ram Memory's problem?i don't remember when the problem begin,maybe after i upgrade my Ram Memory to 4GB DDR2 800 from 2GB DDR2 667. I will upgrade my Ram Memory drive extentions tonight,and see whether will solve this problem.
