Still waiting for root device
I have searched for this, and have found some threads regarding my chipset etc, but none of the solutions provided worked.
I finally got a release burned to a dvd (iDeneb 10.5.6) with AMD support and went to go install.
It booted up into darwin, and then I got to the apple screen. It loaded for a few seconds, and then a red stop sign appeared over the apple.
I then booted with -v and noticed that there was a "still waiting for root device" error.
I only have one HDD, a 500GB SATA split into 3 partitions. My optical drive is set as slave (jumper settings for master doesn't seem to want to be detected). Maybe that is the problem ? I don't see why though.
System specs:
Pi-AM2RS780G mobo (780g chipset)(SB700)
HD 4830
Athlon 64 X2 6000+
500GB samsung SATA
I also tried adding SB700 kexts to a kalyway release I got, and I still received the error.
Any help is appreciated. I would really like to get this installed.
