So I actually fixed this problem. I somehow got my dvd drive to be recognized as master after a ton of fiddling with it. Booted up and I installed. My SATA wasn't recognized so I found an old IDE and used that to install. Works I guess, there are some problems though.
The install just hangs on reboot. I tried a whole bunch of different install settings (ie, the AMD patch 1 & 2 and the hotfix), but I'm still stuck.
Also, as I kept formatting and uninstalling last night, the time it took to install seemed to gradually go up.
Eventually it said about an hour and 20 minutes to install. Seems messed up, as the install never finished and hung at about 25 minutes left. I left it on all night (feel asleep waiting).
I will try again today, but I'm still lost on why it hangs on reboot. The first time it got stuck at "network connection refused" and it just sat there. I had to reboot.
