The infamous waiting for root problem ..
Hi, I'm trying to get iatkos v7 running on my HP Pavilion a6500f without luck so far.
I thought I was getting the error due to my PC only having SATA disks so I got an IDE disk from work to check if that worked. I installed it and it does seem to detect a driver but right after it just shows the waiting for root error.. Attatched are screenshots of my boot screen and the error, I was hoping anyone could give me any ideas on what I might do to resolve this problem? I've already tried the following:
Thanks! Edit - Note that my primary HD is now IDE, secondary is SATA and dvd reader is also SATA. Last edited by Naatan; 01-20-2010 at 01:04 AM. |

I am already using my IDE as master boot so that definitely isn't it, I'll give the kext a try. |

Just noticed, the video assumes that you already managed to install MacOS, I can't even get into the installation - I get the error when trying to boot the dvd.
Any more ideas? |

Maybe try Hazard's Snow Leopard disto.

Unfortunately my bios doesn't let me configure anything =\ I got another IDE disk today (the one I had seemed to have some problems) - hopefully this one will work.. will try tonight. Only 40gb but I only need it to actually get into the installation screen.

I had the problem and ahci enabled fixed it...if you don't have that option there might be another way to change it.
