update lawless 10.5.4 to 10.5.6 question

so i finally got everything working without kernel panicing thanks to this forum and all your help. now the next question is updating to 10.5.6. i read and searched the forum and followed the guides which state downloading the universal tools and installing the new efi and then patching with the ddts patch. i did all this, the update downloads, installs and restarts my machine, but everytime it reboots, it hangs at the grey screen with the apple logo and doesnt go past that. no spinning grey progress wheel or anything.

my set up is lawlessppc 10.5.4 with the new voodoo kernel along with a few kexts from the iPC distro.

pc hardware is as follows:

phenom x4 9950
msi k9a2 platinum motherboard
4gb ram
3650 radeon card.

thanks for all the help.

same here

so far i failed updating my lawless further than 10.5.5.
i am using voodoo kernel and got stuck at the spinning apple.
booting with -v reveals no "waiting for boot" device but something with uuid
i removes the apple...powermangement.kext and the dontsteal...kext
i might invest some more tries (thanks to 2nd partition and dmg backup image)
but im at my wits end..

installing ipc 10.5.6 worked with loosing ci/qe.

btw:
1. is a dtsd patch really needed?
2. is there any advantage to patch the update before updating an amd system on voodoo?

i just re-installed lawlessppc 10.5.4 with the voodoo kernel. how can i go about upgrading, or should i just stay where im at? should i download the 10.5.5 update standalone from the apple website and then do the 10.5.6 standalone? do i need to patch any of these with the amd patcher? thanks.

Don't know cause never try out that hardware, but, ...

1. backup your actually Extensions folder
2. apply Zeph's updater to ComboUpd. the cehck out about some prerequisites and pply update.
3. install the custom (osx86) kexts, those ones that u need.

IMPORTANT: Backup all your're data first
