Hello, i installed the 10.5.2, everything works fine but the usb.
The keyboard and mouse are working but the pen drive and the dvd drive are not.
My previous system was an uphuck 10.4.10 and an usb package was installed to made the usb ports working.

How can i patch the 10.5.2 to enable the usage of pen drives and usb dvd drive?

Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem, tried everything, but the only thing that worked for me is Disable Legacy Usb support in BIOS.

I also have a USB Problem,
I tried to fix it but
everytime i follow this hint : "- If it works, edit com.apple.Boot.plist and remove -legacy flag, if exists."
from the "known issues" i got a kernel-panic after i reboot
even changing back om.apple.Boot.plist does repair it

:-(

I tried to install an usbiofamily.kext found on insanelymac but resulted an unstable result.
Is there any other idea to check it out?

Have you guys tried adjusting all of your BIOS settings for USB and SATA/RAID? I had to find just the right combo of USB legacy/SATA/RAID settings in BIOS otherwise my USB not functioning properly as well. See my current post on my A8N32-SLI board issues.

I also tried all the boot.plist changes with not effect until I got the BIOS combo right.

I had the same issue, the USB was working for my keyboard and mouse but my iphone and ipod were not working.
After several things as suggested here (disable legacy, update the file IOUSBFamily.kext. etc..) it was not working.
As I have an old AMD CPU with no SSE3, I was using kernel 9.0.0
After the update from http://netkas.org/ to 9.2.0, the USB is now working!!!

If it could help you

have you tried third-party utilities?
do you have any unnecessary applications that may cause your USB devices to become unrecognizable?
