prateesh, don't worry, It's not going to break anything.
To get rid of that firewire error whilst booting (in your case in single user mode), disable 1394 (FireWire) in BIOS.
It's not a problem to re-enable it later, as it will work.
Just disable it for now, and when your System will be set up,
then enable it again and you'll be able to use FireWire flawlessly.
Boot with -s again, or if it doesn't work, boot the dvd and use the built in Terminal.
Make sure that you type these commands as given:

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext
exit

After you successfully booted up your system (and only if you are on Rev.1),
install zephyroths NVIDIA drivers, which can be found at the wiki
