Same happened with me, but my SleepEnabler.kext was in /System/Library/Extensions/. Deleted it, and everything is OK |

atleast you got a KP.
i was happily using 10.6.2 and i have spent weeks fine tuning it and everything, but i fought, i'll give updating ago. (never had luck with updating on tiger and Normal Leopard). so i spent 3 hours downloading the update (slow Internet times) and once it finally installed, i rebooted! then again....then again,,,,then again. Chameleon doesn't even try to load the partition. i tried to go into Verbose mode, by nothing loads (no code no nothing!). by this time, a through my keyboard out the window (it's half past 4 in the morning. and i start cursing.) I don't know what the problem is, to not load the first bit of code? anyway, i have installed the latest Chameleon 2 RC4 version, still no luck. here my specs if they help: Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 (Nforce 430 (Nvidia 6100)) Nvidia 9800GT AMD 2.7 GHz athlon Black edition. i'm using the Legacy kernel by the way. ;D Last edited by naf456; 07-12-2010 at 07:11 PM. |

Your problem description sounds exactly like you don't.
You are sure you made a Kernel-back-up before Update and restored the patched one before reboot? AMD Phenom II X4 955 - ASRock AM3A770DE - 8GB DDR3-1333 - Radeon HD 5570 1GB passiv - BCM4318 802.11b/g - Snow Leopard Retail

I did a fresh install (retail .mpkg way from ihackintosh.com) of snow leopard 10.6 and then installed MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.4.dmg update and it KP'd during "writing receipts" and I thought all was lost. . .
I then rebooted once which then rebooted by itself to finish updating and low and behold, it started up. . . I then installed legacy_kernel-10.4.0.pkg which replaced the old modbin mach_kernel.test7 kernel and had to use an older IOUSBFamily.kext all is well. . .so far Last edited by ptesone; 08-24-2010 at 07:19 PM. |

Hi, I've installed 10.6.4 Combo update but after restart I got this screen and everything stops. Tried verbose to see what is the problem but nothing happened. I think it's a kernel problem. I've backuped kernel via OSxTools and saved it before update, but how to take it back to where it should be?
