Fullproof way to backup Snow to an image ? acronis or time machine or anything?
what is the best way to backup the entire partition?
including bootloader on the partition and all. In case something goes wrong in the future, so I don't have to repeat the past 2 days of troubleshooting and can restore to this current setup Thanks |

I think no mac backup software will save the mbr or bs, as macs dont rely on that for booting.
So for using Time Machine and the like you need a bootable usb or cd with chameleon to be able to restore the partition and then reinstall the bootloader. Or else you could try clonezilla or acronis but probably you would need to do a sector by sector backup. Does disk utility not work anymore?
I mean on Snow, sorry haven't played with it yet. Because that's already installed, no need for third party anything, and the only thing you need to restore is to boot from the install disk. |

I think the best solution is CopyCatX . I know it's not free (I am quite sure that won't stop you to try it) but it's the fastest by far.

The easiest way IMO is having Chameleon installed in a USB or DVD, booting from there and restoring from Time Machine or any Disk Image based backup using the install DVD. 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean.
