SL no sound on G31M-ES2L

Ok. if I am posting this in the wrong forum feel free to move it, this should be the correct one though. Ok, I have tried 50 different guides, google searched this to death and no luck. I can not get the sound working for my snow leopard install on a G31M-ES2L gigabyte motherboard. Every guide I have looked up point me too HDAEnabler.kext and ALCInject.kext as the correct audio kexts to use. But they do nothing. All I get in the sound preferences panel is "No output device found"

Abit more info if it helps. I did a SL thumb drive install that was made from the retail disc and used a loader called EP45UD3P Snow Leopard.pkg to make my hard drive bootable. The entire install went through without a hitch.

Everything I need works great aside from the sound. I have full graphics support and everything. I can't think of any other helpful information to include right now. Thnx for any help.

Are you using legacy kext + applehda for audio on 10.6.3? if so here's the 10.6.2 applehda (goes into /S/L/E) to fix sound and if you dont have the legacy audio kext (goes into /E/E) Oh and dont forget to remove any audio kexts like HDAEnabler.kext and ALCInject.kext.

GA-Z68XP-UD3: Lion 10.7.3, Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1 and FreeBSD 9-RELEASE, Core i5 2500K @ 3.3GHz, 16GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 ram(Soon), 1GB GDDR5 Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti, 2X 1TB Samsung F3 SATA HDDs, 1X WDC Blue 500GB HDD; Dell Mini 10v: Obsidian Black, 2GB DDR2 533MHz Ram, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 120GB HDD, 6-Cell, Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Build 10K549

No. I don't have wireless internet working so I have no internet connection on it. But that is no issue for me as I don't need it for what I intend to do. I am on just the regular 10.6 after fresh install from retail disc. What legacy kext are you referring to, I could give it a try. And would I need to update? I could download the update, transfer via usb and update that way.

No luck. I tried the kexts you mentioned, no luck. I wanted to use this hackintosh for video editing and art, no sound rules out the video editing. Oh well. My other PC has ubuntu, and ubuntu does not yet support my TV tuner, so I am stuck relying on going to windows when I need it. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to hear them. Otherwise, thnx anyways.

Did you place the legacy audio kext into /Extra/Extensions then rebuilt extensions with kext utility.

I am not sure what you mean. I tried putting legacy audio kext in e/e, but what are rebuilt extensions?

Use this tool to rebuild the extensions for you: http://www.kexts.com/view/129-kext_u..._(update).html

I can easily repair them, but could it be causing a problem I don't see that makes my sound not work?
