-force64 and -v gets it through to standard desktop now, got a boot message I need to have another look at and also just seconds before booting a load of messages about nvenabler so I dont think there are too many issues to work through - however I keep getting applications closing before opening including a few of the kext helpers and marvins.

So far - progress though which is reassuring and the system seems to be as fast sa I would expect.
