Trouble booting 10.6

I've spent the last week trying to install Snow Leopard 10.6 onto my Dell Latitude D610 and no matter what I do or how I install it or what guide to follow I always end up at the same point which is "Waiting for DSMOS" and the system hangs.

I've tried various different configurations but I can't seem to get it to boot. I'm running 10.5.6 at the moment and I wish to install 10.6 as a fresh install. I have Chameleon RC3 and in Extras/Extensions I have the following :-

AppleACPIPS2Nub
OpenHaltRestart
VoodooPS2Controller
LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA
NullCPUPowerManagement
AppleRTC
IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector
PlatformUUID

I replaced IOATAFamily.kext to stop a kernel panic.

I also have fakesmc and dsmos in there and I've tried without fakesmc and just dsmos in Extra/Extension and S/L/E and I've tried fakesmc on its own. When I tired both together I got a kernel panic.

Any help would be appreciated guys, I'm limited in OSX86 knowledge being new to this and I don't know what to do next.

TX

You could try to overwrite only one file of chameleon RC3 installation called "boot" by the new one from Netka's and you will have "PC EFI V10.3" instead of chameleon...

Installation: if you dont have chameleon2 installed yet – get rc1/rc2 install pkg and use leopard to install bootloader, then replace boot file in root of boot partition with this one --- http://rapidshare.de/files/48382168/boot.html

http://netkas.org/?p=224

Please give it a try.

Tried that my friend and it still wouldn't work. However I'm not sure if I've done it correctly, I replaced boot sitting in the root / from the command prompt.

You will know that you have done it correctly if you don't se a green chameleon when booting and see a new PC EFI 10.3 logo...

I would try with less extra kexts, only the minimum to boot, also not sure why you would need a modded AppleRTC...
