Ok, its a laptop tho, i doesnt it matters, does it?

CPU: AMD Turion X2 64 TL50 1,6GHZ
RAM: 2 GB
Chipset: ATI Radeon Xpress 200M/1100M/1150M, AMD Hammer (That is what Everest says.)
GPU: ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 128mb.
Motherboard: Acer Apsire 5100

This is the first time im trying to install Mac OSX, so if i need to change kext files or something, expect that i understand 0% of it.
Tho, it would help if start some research.

i've already tried it (except ahci in bios) and it does not work. thanks anyway. tried platform=x86pc, legacy, cpus=2, cpus=1, etc, no joy. i should sue toshiba for selling me a crippled laptop good only for windows :)

A lot of answers can be found by merely typing "osx86 YOURPROBLEMHERE" into google. It is likely that the problems you might face have already been discussed in this and other forums. But hey if you get stuck let us know we will try to help you out.

Will you be wanting to install OSX only or do you wish to dual boot with say Windows XP?

Lets say your looking at iPC 10.5.6. All things perfect you are able to boot into the installer.

• Make sure you do not skip past the option to "Customize". This allows you to add various drivers and fixes and is pretty important.
• Only select options which you know will work. This is especially important with the graphics section. Choosing the wrong option or multiple options will cause problems where not choosing anything will get you default graphics and the ability to boot into OSX. Its generally easier to fix a problem from the fancy OSX interface after the fact.
• Keep a sheet of paper handy and write down the options you select and what the outcome is.

When you boot the DVD or from a drive you have installed on you will see "Darwin" at the top of the screen and it will count down before continuing. This gives you a chance to enter some boot options (boot flags) if needed. If needed you can press F8 durring the countdown and enter them at the prompt. For example entering -v here will boot you in Verbose mode. This means instead of a blank screen with apple logo you get a text version of the boot process. If you get stuck usually you can see the last thing it was doing and post about it. There is an option in the iPC distro that says Verbose Mode. I would select that as it will put you in verbose automatically.

Give it a try and write down your steps. If you get stuck let us know. I would search the forum first for your answer and then post in the Questions section.

I want a OSX only system, just because i'm getting tired of windows and Mac is better supported on school, but right now i dont have enough money to buy a real Mac osx system.

Currently my download is on 41,0%. So i hope i can install it tomorrow( at least some attempts)

I will write it down, but how do i know wich kernel to choose? And wich is compitabel with my machine?

Also, when i get to the the point of installing, ill get you updated if something is wrong, or when everything goes right, i will post it too.;)
But i didnt saw my graphic card on the list in the other thread of iPC.
So i wait for that first.

These are just suggestions:
Kernel - 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel (This is a great choice as it fixes issues related to running OSX on AMD and makes everything a little less painful.)
Video - None
Chipset - Im not too familiar with yours but I have read that for this particular section you can choose all of the options except those that conflict. So choose only one of each of those. nForce & maybe VIA are have multiple options. Im not too sure. Id see if anyone else chimes in on this one.
Audio - ALC883
Fixes and Patches -
Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5 (I had problems with the 10.5.6 version. Im not sure if that is only with nForce chipsets or with all of them)
Verbose Mode
Applications - Kext Helper & Pacifist are pretty handy.

If everything goes well and the install completes you may want to use the boot flag -f on your first startup.

Kexts (Drivers) are stored in the /System/Library/Extensions folder and OSX takes these kexts and creates a single cache file called extensions.mkext. -f Forces OSX to load drivers from the extensions folder and not the cache file just to make sure all of the options you have chosen are applied.
