I got a chance to test the keyboard out on a windows laptop. Something was wrong with the keyboard, but after dropping it a few times it works now. I am actually able to type with it and couldnt be more happy. Now on to my next issue....

What do you recommend for someone that has Rev. 1 installed that only needs sata support? And possibly sleep support.

I have just installed Zephyroth leopard 10.5.2.rev2 and for the most part all went well except that when I was finished and before I get the desktop I get an error message about the RTL8187L.kext not loaded. The message is
System extensions cannot be used
/System/Library/Extensions/ rtl8187.kext was not improperly installed.

I changed the ownership and permissions on the extensions folder but that did not help.

Has anyone seem this with their install?

System
Asus: M2N32-SLI Deluxe MB
2 gig DDR2 memeory
320 gig SATA HD

In the mean time, I will reinstall !

bajanboy

you just need to use kext helper it is in the install now, find the kext and drag it into kext helper

then type in you admin password, go advanced press permissions and script, note the script on the right (this is a kext install script with permissions)

Then choose run.

It will install and the permissions will be fixed

Good Luck

He must have done that, but did not specifically state that he did. bajanboy, have you tried using kext-helper to install the kext?

He said

"I changed the ownership and permissions on the extensions folder but that did not help."

This seemed like a wrong approch to me.

he may not have used kext helper yet.

And he was a bit quick to want to reinstall for a simple permissions issue.

Hi. I have the same mobo... Try this: delete rtl8187.kext and Realtek WiFi utility from Applications. Then reinstall that utility ( http://ifolder.ru/5581660 ). Maybe reboot needed. And wait a minute - connecting wifi network isn't immediately. I have my wifi worked, although it's determined as ethernet card...
Good luck! If you don't have sound try this: http://ifolder.ru/5581653

No, I have not used kext-helper, I used these command;
sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extexsions/*
sudo chmod -R 755/System/Library/Extexsions/*

Actually there were two error boxes that popped it after the install (sorry no screen prints), one was complaining about the rtl8187l.kext not loaded properly loaded and the other was a security/permissions error on what I remember to be the /LibraryStartupItems directory.

I re-installed without the RTL8187L driver an all is fine(no errors), I decided to use my D-Link DWL-G122 USB stick for my LAN but would rather have been using the WiFi on the MB.....will continue to investigate !!

btw, the problem seem to be the driver client software that is loaded of the kext it self.

Does the Zephyroth 10.5.2 Rev2 image include the drivers for the ATI SB600 southbridge chipset? I have an ASUS M2A-VM motherboard with the AMD 690G chipset and cannot get past the "waiting for root device" error. I've changed DVD drives, swapped master and slave drives (I have an IDE HD), to no avail. I've seen reference that the SB600 drivers have been posted on this forum and am willing to try to build my own bootable image with these drivers, but I wanted to know whether Zephyroth already incorporated these drivers in this Rev2 image.

No luck for me, "Still waiting for root device", hehehehe. I know it may be of my Nforce 560 chipsets. I so tire with editting the AppleNForceATA.kext and inject again to iso image and burn, boot again because the latest kext was issue a message is does not support for my device 0x56010de.
Solution: WAIT FOR A NEW RELEASE OF SUPPORTING KEXT/S. I know that hihihihi
Good luck for those still trying to make it work.

Assuming that the Zephyrod 10.5.2 Rev2 image does NOT have the SB600 southbridge patch, how do I go about making a new iso image with the patch applied? I don't have a working OSX machine right now, so would have to patch the iso using linux (or windows). I've seen some instructions on how to update the iso, but they all require a working mac. Is it simply a matter of updating the Extensions directory on the install dvd with the new contents of the SB600_SATA_ATA.zip archive? Or is there more to it than that?
