It would be great if you could include a driver for the Radeon x1800xl card

Would you happen to have a driver for radeon x1800xl for this release? I have 10.5.6. installed with only the graphics card being the last issue.

The system profiler does not show any PCIe cards however the graphic display profile shows the correct device (0x7109) and vendor ids (0x1002).

I'm really pulling my hair out trying various methods to get this to show other resolutions. Currently it only displays at 1024x768.

Thanks

SB600 Support

hooray for PPF3 :)
i hope the sb600 support is full this time.. because i have a leo4all install and my hack boots so slow due to "iokitwaitquiet issue" and no matter what i have done i can't burn my dvd's at proper speeds.. toast and disco recognizes media as it should but when it comes to burning, it burns constantly at 1x. this is annoying because i am burning dvd's regularly:'( i will try tomorrow and i will report my experiences with the release.. thank you for sparing your time on this distros;)

Ok. I had a 8600GT previously I used an EFI string with that, but that time I also had some drivers installed, the 9f9 package from nvinstaller.com. Is there some sort of graphics driver package for the 9600GT or 9xxx series in general that I could use with my EFI string?

Great to hear. I'll give it a try this weekend :D

last ipc release went fine for me (sb 600, but installing from usb stick).

hope is a lie

i tried with all of my knowledge and did what you said to do about this distro to make it install on my machine, but whatever i tried doesn't work.. still getting same stupid error:
still waiting for root device!!
please add "REAL" support for sb600 and please make it work on second partition. my details on my sig

and fyi: i applied ppf's respectively and everytime i patch the iso i checked the md5.
burned at 2x and verified with nero..
may i suggest you to look at the leo4allv4.1, because only that distro installs on my machine without any errors.. but i'm looking forward to some distro with "REAL" sb600 support, i hope you can manage to add this to future releases.
thank you

There may never be "real" SB600 support because it's such a shitty chipset (it's ATI, which is owned by AMD... bleh).

We have looked at Leo4All, bhast2 has helped us with numerous stuff, which we are greatfull for.

The only thing I can think of is checking your BIOS settings. There could be a setting which is what's causing you your issues.

cnone 01-18-2009 12:40 PM

don't get me wrong, i am grateful too, just want to report an issue, where can i find proper bios settings, what settings should be used? i am setting sata to ahci mode, plug and play os to yes what should i change other than these?

iPC OSx86 Public Beta PPF4

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE LAST PPF TO IPC PUBLIC BETA. NO PACKAGES CAN BE ADDED ANYMORE (ONLY ABOUT 4MB FREE SPACE ON THE DISC) AND I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO FIX DVD BOOT ERRORS

PLEASE APPLY PPF1 2 AND 3 BEFORE APPLYING THIS PPF4

MD5 of PPF4 Patched ISO: a702367d23d9b3374df19ace88a9fb08

Changelog

* Reverted to older Extensions.mkext to fix some boot time problems (this may or may not fix your problems so don’t get your hopes up too high)

* Added vanilla 9.5.0 kernel for boot. To boot using the vanilla kernel at the DVD F8 boot prompt type “vanilla”

* Added single user mode OSx86 Tools. Go to Single user mode (-s) after installing, mount your drive (mount -uw /) and run one of these commands to do things (the command is the “/usr/bin/*” part):

/usr/bin/install_efi - Reinstalls an EFI bootloader to the partition

/usr/bin/remove_ati_gfx - Backup and remove default OS X ATI kexts

/usr/bin/remove_intel_gfx - Backup and remove default OS X Intel kexts

/usr/bin/remove_nvidia_gfx - Backup and remove default NVIDIA kexts

/usr/bin/repair_permissions - Repairs permissions on the drive (*NOTE*: this may not work properly from single user mode due to the DiskArbitration framework not being loaded)

/usr/bin/rm_applesetupdone - Rerun the Apple Setup Assistant on startup

/usr/bin/rm_bad_kexts - Removes some “bad” kexts (AppleHWSensor, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, AppleEFIRuntime)

/usr/bin/touch_applesetupdone - Fix for Setup Assistant loop

And that’s about it! Again, this is the last PPF, THERE IS NO MORE ROOM TO ADD ANYTHING!! iPC OSx86 Final LiveDVD edition is coming out soon, which is basically iPC PPF4 with a LiveDVD base. After a lot of slimming this LiveDVD edition is still single layer (4.36GB) All the languages have been removed from the final iPC to get more room for the LiveDVD component, but the languages will be available separate.
