I just installed rev2 using MBR EFI_v8. If I chose that option does it install efi for me or do I have to install efi separately?

It should install it for you

Okay

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on trying to install 10.5.2 (r2) in a couple of weeks, when I have sufficient bandwidth to finish downloading the ISO. I'm after any advice or tips regarding the installation process. I'm particularly interested to hear from anyone who has experience dealing with the hardware I have:

M/board: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe
CPU: AMD x2 4400+
Video: Gigabyte 7300GT 256mb
Pioneer DVR-111D (DVD-RW), IDE
Seagate Barracuda 320GB, SATA II
PS/2 keyboard & mouse

I also have a Netgear WG311v3 wireless card, which I don't believe will work; am I correct in this?

I'd appreciate any advice on getting this up and running successfully :-)

Hi everyone,

Is there any way to control CPU speed in 10.5.2 r2. Computer is very noisy, because the frequency is 3.2ghz
My spec:
AMD Athlon X2 6400+
Gigabyte GA-M61SME-S2
2048 MB RAM
400GB SAMSUNG HD403LJ SAMSUNG HD403LJ
Nvidia 8500GT 512MB

Hi yearzero,

I dont think that you will have any problems installing leopard 10.5.2, your system specs are very close to what I have and it's running fine on mine...let me know if you have any problems.

yearzero 03-18-2008 05:11 PM

Fantastic; thank you, bajanboy :-)

Should be an interesting ride, regardless. Photoshop on UNIX = hot.

I'll be sure to post how things turn out, and indeed I'll likely be back to ask many (stupid) questions before I have it up and running. I'm used to UNIX based systems (mostly Linux), but not OS X, so I'm keen to have something new to play with :-)

ok when i did mine it showed as fdisk 1 and it all worked fine

WinLinMac01 03-21-2008 09:38 PM

by default if using only one hard drive and one partition should be fdisk 1. You probably have more than one partition or hd. Let us know.
