Hold on, are you trying to boot SL or Leopard?
If its Snow Leopard, you need a different set ok kexts! Did you follow my "quick" SL tutorial a few pages back? |
It's Snow Leopard
I followed your Helicopter guide from page 12, already have working 10.5.7 install |
Gurruwiwi,
I think you would have started creating a step by step guide w/ pictures for newbies like me. Eagerly waiting for it..........!!!!! sl_mac |
I started doing it already... should be up soon (not today though....)

Help needed!
Hi there - apols - I'm a relative newbie to this sort of thing so I'm a bit confused. I've followed the guide to the letter (quality stuff by the way!) I then went and installed Windows 7 afterwards. The installation went fine, without any hiccups. I then did the whole diskpart bit. I was then able to boot into Chameleon but can't for the life of me a) find the boot.ini files in Leopard - where exactly do I have to look? I'm a complete newbie so this bit confused me.
b) if I can find the files how exactly do I 'copy the boot.ini files into the root of Windows 7. This confuses me basically because I don't know where to locate the root for either system. Also I did a search for the boot.ini files on OS X (including logging in as root and showing hidden files) but couldn't seem to locate them. Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated!!! |
Thats a bit of wrong info right there. I'm extremely sorry for that, I sometimes write-up after doing stuff so I don't forget how, and I must have been really tired... that is not a step to do!
Chameleon boot Windows fine! Just have to activate OSX so Chameleon takes boot priority, and you can then choose the other partition (Win7) and it should boot fine. The thing is, I had installed Chameleon onto WIndows partition so I double freaked Chameleon or something. That was how I managed to untie the "double knot" actually. Sorry about that, off to fix 1st post! Just select Windows and off you go! But, boot.ini is created by Chameleon (along with Extra Folder) onto the root of the drive you choose it to boot from (like Leopard or Snow). It is hidden so you cannot see it, there are terminal command to show hidden files, or a little script app someone wrote that is in the files I uploaded. Off to work on the tutorial, school has started so I'll try to post it soon! |
Excuse me, was it here that someone asked for an easy Snow Leopard tutorial?
