when installing for the first time I would recommend using the boot flags "-f -x -v". By default, LawlessPPC's distro runs with "-f -v" but if you override it with your own, it won't force-load the Extensions folder and may not find the right extensions needed. You may also need to inject an extension later so I'd suggest reading up on it from within a few threads that can be found on this forum or over at insanelymac.

is there a kext for the SB750 southbrige ? (i think i'm the only one with a sb750, only exia asked about it)

here is my system:
- AMD Phenom 9950 X4 Black Edition 140W - (has SSE4a too)
- MSI DKA790GX - AMD 790GX , SB750
- OCZ Platinum 2*2GB 1000MHz
- Asus Geforce 8600GT Silencer 512 DDR3
- Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Audio
- Western Digital SATA2
- Asus DVD-RW IDE

i have 2 partitions :
C - NTFS with Vista x64 (~97GB)
D - Unpartition (~56GB)

i tryed to install OSX86 Leopard For AMD LawlessPPC-Leo-10.5.4-Phenom&AMD
and after i gave the -v command it says : still waiting for root device

i've tryed to change from IDE to AHCI with no luck
should i try with a SATA DVD drive ?
with who i should talk for Creative Labs audio cards kexts ?

please if you have any hints pls tell me

thx

when i wroe about the wattage i meant just on that msi board (they are crap). As for waiting for rot device there is no chipset driver present for motherboard you would have to add it yourself. Your choices would be to get the sb700 kext i think that will do it or if im not mistaken idenebs distro covers it but i cant confirm

Hello LawlessPPC,

firstly sorry for my english. i´m from germany.

i installed your LawlessPPC 10.5.4 on my system and it works great. but give it a way to update your distro from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5. That is very important for me, to install the GF 9600GT driver.

I used the Zephiroth software update, but it won´t work. it stops with detecting cpuids for mac os x leopard.

My system:

Motherboard Name: Asus M3A-H/HDMI
CPU: TripleCore AMD Phenom 8450
Motherboard: AMD 780G, AMD K10
Memory: 2048 MB (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM)
USB Controller: ATI SB700 - OHCI USB Controller
Sound: Realtek ALC888/1200 @ ATI SB700 - High Definition Audio Controller
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (512 MB)
Network: Realtek RTL8139 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter

THX

check out this thread to help in your quest to get to 10.5.5
http://www.infinitemac.com/f36/zephy...post16597.html

basically you can download the single update direct from the Apple site and place the .pkg file found in the image download to your Downloads folder and then follow the directions at the link.

If you have trouble with that, PM me and I'll send you a link to mine.

Is it correct thread, because i don't see how it relates to fix that particular problem.

I'm having troubles aswell, it was mentioned earlier that updating from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 it stops on detecting cpus (to be precise on 310th file with AMD Patcher 0.3), same goes to new AMD Patcher 0.3. Even better my ASU 0.5beta now downloads and strait after goes back to update list.

I would like to have that pathed version too, please.

yes its the correct thread if you are unable to get your system updated to 10.5.5.

If you are trying to get it updated to 10.5.5 for Graphics updates that are not given in the online updates but only through the retail DVDs that became available after that system started to be used in the new Macbooks/Pros then thats another problem altogether.

No I was using online Mac combo 10.5.5 update, and bugs and security is above all.

Hi everybody, I managed to enable QE/CI on my HD 3850 by this link http://www.infinitemac.com/f5/strang...t-bootup-t809/

those kexts really worked for Lawless.

I only have the ethernet problem, the MSI site points out the ethernet card is 8111B. so how can I enable this card because there is no such a driver as I see. which driver do I have to install for my K9A2 CF?

thank you very much.

i followed the direction and it works. but if i install the MacOSXUpd10.5.5.pkg my pc freezes at 14% and the only solution is a hardreset. after it the pc starts in a reboot loop.

I don't know whether I'm coming or going. :-|
