Hi i can't implement theses changes as i can't boot into leopard is there another way round it if i can boot off the DVD and have the downloaded AppleNforceATA.kext on a usb stick

If you have Windows installed you can download and install either Transmac or Macdrive to easily perform that task. Alternatively you can put it on a USB stick and boot from the DVD, fire up terminal, cd to the stick then copy the file to /volumes/Leopard/System/Library/Extensions/ then reboot using -v -f

how do i cd to the stick and copy from the stick if i called the stick patcher and do you know of a working kext to work with my nForce4

you type in:
Code:

cd /volumes
ls (to see your devices)
cd /your_usb_device/
ls (to view the contents)
cp /volumes/your_usb_device/AppleNForceATA.kext/ /volumes/Leopard/System/Library/Extensions/

Reboot with -v -f
