read through the voodoo kernel threads, find the 9.5 System.kext file (replace existing one in Extensions folder with this) then use the new voodoo kernel release candidate and then update via Apple Software update. This should solve it for you.

For the first time, in ages, I am having a issue; I am getting stuck at setup. I re-burned the dvd and reinstalled the OS. I noticed a difference in this time which was the dvd didn't hang and just reboot. I actually saw the installation complete page. I know the commands for to override the setup process however I would like to find out why the setup is hanging at "don't transfer files" page at setup. Any ideas?

boot with the boot flags: "maxmem=3072 cpu=1 -f -x -v"

this should cover most of the minor problems to let us know if anything else is an issue... Also, once you get this installed, look up the SB700 thread in this forum for the sb700 kext that will help speed up your running system.

Cable Unplugged

After a successful installation, onto my Amd X2 3800+, Asus m2n-e, 2 gig Corsair xms, 250 gig sata2 hd ( partitioned 3 ways, 1 = xp, 2 = Ubuntu, 3 = lawless mac osx )

In system preferences > Network, It says the Cable Unplugged, The cable for Ethernet is not plugged in. ( yes I'm 100% certain the cable is plugged in, as I'm able to browse in the other os without issues )

Now I have searched and a few "fixes" for the issue, but neither seem to have worked.
1st was to set the Wake on lan to enabled ( in XP ). ( have done )
2nd was to enable magic packet in bios. ( enabled )

The network card is the onboard Nvidia gigabit lan.

Anyone have any other fixes for this issue perhaps?

Cheers.

disable anything in bios that is not needed and make sure when you burn the dvd that you verify it

what did you select as the customized network "fix"? Can you get us a printout from LSPCI using pcwiz's OSx86 Tools Utility?

EDIT: pcwiz's site is going through some changes right now and the utility is not found at its usual place. use this in the meantime: http://www.mediafire.com/nfoav8or/OSX86Tools.zip

nforce onboard ethernet cards are no fun in osx. you may try a forcedeth kext, but it is likely not to work.
on my old m2n-sli i just bought a cheap ethernet ethernet card ...
