First post. Thanks for the community
I have AMD system, which runs kalyway 10.5.2. Its been pretty stable and i havent found problem as such. (touchwood) running tons of apps luckily no issues.

I want to update to 10.5.6(mostly greed and partially need...for iphone dev)

I am trying to use ASU latest from the sticky. It lists a comboupdate for 10.5.6. would it be safe to go for this directly? Is there any precaustions i need to take (ofcourse other than backing up kexts and data). Any separate steps?
I see somewhere ppl talking about deleting some "power.." kext etc. Not sure. "The seaside place" has a kalyway update for 10.5.3 but it says its only for intel. So just wondering..if somebody can help.

Please help
-Nagu

I used Zephyroths AMD update and it automatically downloaded and patched 10.5.6 for me, I went straight from 10.5.2 to 10.5.6 Only issue is I need to find the NVidia driver now, I'm in it right now, but without the kext i keep getting artifacts. I originally installed with no Nvidia Kexts. Works great, when using it I chose the modify only option selected the 10.5.6 update and modified it then went to my downloads folder and started the pkg install. Rebooted and loaded into OS. If it doesn't boot right away wait a minute, after that restart the computer and type -v -x at the prompt. If it self-reboots then try a normal boot again. Mind you I didn't update my kernel and I'm using Modbin.

I'd appreciate a copy of your package just in case I need to reinstall Kalyway. It would sure lessen the hassle.:D

I just found the reboot problem for me, the EFI keeps resetting my BIOS time and it screws it up, I mean it boots but only after a couple tries. Once I reset the BIOS time it booted up fine. As for the package, I used the ASU and checked Modify Only. It downloaded the update for me and modified it, then put it in my downloads folder. You could do the same. Once it's saved in your downloads burn it to cd or transfer it to a flash drive it's...lemme check... MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.6.pkg~655.8MB

If you really want my package, I'll need some ideas on how to send it to you, never had to do it before. I'm assuming P2P would be more convenient.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post with this community and I just wanted to say that it is great that we have places like this.

Anyways, my question is about the Zephyroths AMD update. I have the Beta 0.5 file, and first I would like to know if this is all I needed? And secondly, I wanted to know if I would need a new bootloader to install this on my computer, Right now I am just using Darwin that came with Kalyway 10.5.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to update to 10.5.6 because I plan on purchasing a version of iLife 09.

Thank you in advance for your help

[EDIT] I tried to install the update using the AMD update software. I only selected the Mac combo 10.5.6 package to update, and i selected modify only. It then proceeds to download the package successfully. Then it starts to unpack the package, and when the blue bar gets about 1/4 of the way across the screen, a gray cover comes over the screen and it tells me that I need to reboot my computer. I reboot, and it is as if nothing happened. Could somebody please help me out? Thank you again.

u should try updating your kernel if u don't have Voodoo yet. need Disabler.kext, AppleDecrypt.kext and then try again...

Can I also get that package. I'm on 10.5.2 on a fresh install, and I'm really confused on how to update without breaking my install.
