You can expand the drop down directories and choose each one individually (hold command and click to select more than one file to install). But I'm pretty sure that if you don't select those kexts I listed, you should be ok. My system is far from vanilla and it's running fine.

What is the SMBIOS file you are referring to? Where is it located?

cmdshft 05-13-2009 05:13 AM

AppleSMBIOS.kext

I have to use a non-vanilla one and I can't use any special SMBIOS kexts like the EFI one or similar enablers, so I have to make sure not to overwrite mine otherwise when I use About This Mac my system logs me out. It's a common issue on legacy motherboards like mine.

Pacifist is giving me a message saying that a Budle already exists. Am I suppose to select Replace or Update option? Sorry I have not updated using Pacifist before.

worked for me..... from software update!

EP45-UD3R ,Intel core 2 duo3.17, 4Gb ram ,Nvidia 9600 GT , vanilla install.
bit of a newbie and was surprised it worked staight away!

by the way thanks for all the infor in these boards, it wouldnt have worked without all your knowledge , thanks guys.

Your EP45-UD3R is one of the most compatible boards.

10.5.7 works now native on ICH10 (P45/X58...), I only neeed the LegacyIOAHCIBlockStorage.kext to avoid the orange drive icons.
Also had to switch back to 10.5.6 sound, for the time being. :)

My test iPC partition works well, as same as my main retail 10.5.6+10.5.7 delta EFI partition setup.

Did ur samba keep working, printer drivers, etc?

When I had 10.5.3 to 10.5.4 I lost samba, it never worked back

and I cant use a vanilla kernel too

so if u confirm I will do it again via pacifist

I don't use samba. Printers still worked, though.

Hi.
I have acer extensa 5620 laptop.

After upgrade to 10.5.7 i have no sound.
In System Preferences ->sound ->there is no input devices found.
But before upgrade the sound was there.
I used ALC268(by Madtux)
How i fix it, or change back to 10.3.6 sound?

Thanks

Valentine 05-15-2009 02:17 PM

Depends of what the ALC268 solution consists of.
If it had a patched AppleHDA.kext then it got overwritten.
Just replace it back again and see.
