What is wrong with people who aggressively criticise the work of those who are willing to learn and give back to the community? Sure, some work may not be groundbreaking or even original, but if one does not like what has been offered then ignore it and move on, otherwise offer constructive comments on how to advise the author to make their app better.

@pater, take your 'crusade' elsewhere or next time you will face a ban. Attitudes like yours are not welcome here. You will probably find that you'll fit in much better at another forum. Otherwise read the rules that you agreed to when you signed up.

Quote:

7.) Be constructive. If you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all. Constructive criticism is welcome, derogatory
comments are not.

8.) Respect one another. InfiniteMac is a friendly place and we want to keep it that way. We will not tolerate any form of racism, victimisation, slander or hateful content. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning. Members are asked to not act as “back seat moderators”. If members note an issue which contravenes something in the rules they should bring it to the attention of a member of Staff. Please use the “report post” feature so that the situation can be dealt with appropriately.

Fine, I'll be constructive.

OP: Don't use AppleScript, it's a waste of time. Learn a real language like Objective-C so you can make apps that don't suck.

You're quite the extraordinary troll there, pater.

So far you've tried to crap on him in both threads he's started about applications he's working on. Obviously he's trying to learn, and is getting constructive comments from the community... keep your veiled bull$hit to yourself.

Objective-C, for an app such as this one, would be swatting a mosquito with a rocket launcher. Duh?

Maybe your analogy there is an indication of how pathetic this app is?

I suggest a "Programming" section, with some sub-sections like "Novice", "Beginner", "Advanced".. etc

This way everything will be in the right section, and the average users don't jump on any app being posted, some apps can be risky for their systems.

I also suggest that people posting their apps warn the users about the possible risks of using their apps, especially when it comes to system maintenance and the like.

Worse case, I can completely waste my OS X. This will force me to re-install my OS X.

Kinda annoying, but I might learn something new. So as bad as it is, it can be good.
