So, is this dead? Even though the iMacs with 2600 cards in them work fine with QE/CI in Snow Leopard, we are just giving up on the hackintosh end?

they have a different firmware

I have a HD2400 PCI-e which doesn't have qe/ci under [edit]snowleo[/edit] either, so I'm in the same boat. It will, however, play some video with Quicktime player, but since there's no hardware acceleration it uses the CPU and isn't nearly as smooth as 10.5.8. VLC won't play anything at all, oddly. I can't afford a new card, so I guess I'm stuck with 10.5.8 until/unless some genius (netkas?) comes up with a solution. ;(

If I had the capability to help solve the problem, you can be sure I would be. |
pc efi from netkas has 2600 and 3870 support now.
on netkas.org there is a install guide |
don't think this is news, ati hd2600 is supported, but no QE -> still slow
Just unterstood that the 2600XT on the imac work because they are Mobility Chips. |
