And one more issue, but this has nothing to do with my audio issues. I can't seem to get time machine working although it worked perfectly before I messed up my Zeph 10.5.1 install by trying to update myself.
Time Machine freezes every time I try to backup . I have tried a few IONetworking kexts but no go. Could you possibly up yours m8?
Is it working for you?

No time machine for me till I get my new hard drive tomorrow. I only have 3 drives, 1 windows/1 leopard and 1 for leopard that I use to break/test stuff on.

Hmm no bud, no matter what, it always sets 6ch and then when I use iTunes the sound is gone until I set the audio/midi app config back to 2ch or use the app from attachement.

Allright, I'll check around for a proper fix for time machine.

Editing the kext and somehow removing 6 channels option from it, is that possible?

I think we need to force 2 channels only by removing other options.

Eddie, I'm getting these error msgs when runningTime Machine. Are they linked to the issue I'm having with Time Machine freezing afetr a few gigs of backup?

Thx

Try another version of "translate". The one from 10.5.1.
it's located in "/usr/libexec/oah".

Snow 02-21-2008 08:44 PM

Hey Zeph, all good?

m8, I'm on 10.5.2 now and removed all backups from 10.5.1 since I thought I was good to go.

Could you attach it pls, thx bud n take care.

eddie11c 02-21-2008 09:37 PM

What zeph is saying that the DVD contains the 10.5.1 version in that location, he uses a package later in the install to update it to 10.5.2.

Snow 02-21-2008 10:17 PM

Alright, I knew it had to be something like that. It's just that it's hidden so I figured it wasn't on the DVD.

Trying now, it holds 2 files by the way, original and prob modified one. Trying the modified first.

Another error btw, ssave related. Time Machine worked without any probs before. Issues keep on stacking up. Most people don't have issues mainly because they only use half of OSX.
I'm getting oh so tired lol. Solved a lot of issues already but now it's getting silly and for what I want to use it for (audio) it is practicaly like hooking up my guitar to a gameboy.
It's good for some office stuff and some PS, especialy on AMD I reckon, but if you want to do some serious work it just cant seem to hack it.
Even when I get time machine fixed, what use is there for Time Machine if I don't have a proper working DAW.

Sorry bout the nagging lads but I'm so fed up with PC's. Before trying to get shit done with OSX86 I was fiddling with Windows OS's.
I don't want to go back to windows with Cubase SX now that I know a bit of Logic (and I love apple loops)

Oh well, stop nagging Snow and throw it out of the window.

Later guys, I'll post back if Time Machine is working this time (I highly doubt it)

Snow 02-21-2008 10:50 PM

Alright, Time Machine is still backing up after 13 gigs so I'm thinking it's good to go since before it crapped out at a few gigs.

Console is showing the same error though with translate.

Update: Same error but lssave related now, any idea if this can be replaced also? and location on DVD? Checked but no go in /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister on DVD
