Instead of injecting data to the kernel with NVinject (in order to your card being correctly recognized), this string do the job at boot.

You will always need modified NVidia kexts as Apple only supports a few graphics card by default unfortunately.

I just wanted to clarify that this method worked for me. My 256Mb XpertVision 8600 GTS still has QE/CI and rotation using 'hex to string' and removing NVInject.

My Gigabyte 8600GTS 256MB too... And the VRAM amount is now seen and reported properly where before it was listed as 768MB. xbench score just slightly better (no better in opengl though).

Hi guys I hate to bump and sound dumb but this thread is exactly what I need help on. What is the correct way going about installing a driver for this type of video card. I tried a few methods with almost everything and pretty much had to just erase everything and start over. Im ok with that but running the appropriate driver is what im trying to achieve.
