Who's deleting and why?
What's the deal with empire EFI, that threads should be deleted?

So does this mean that the mach_kernel placed in Preboot.dmg does On-the-Fly Opcode patching?

What exactly that means?

We are able to boot from retail DVD and install SL without any patching or tricks?

Does it also mean patched kernel is not needed when this loader is used?

Not sure if it supports on the fly opcode patching but it does use the 10.0.0 version...

prasys 11-30-2009 02:46 PM

Nope it doesn't do on the fly op-patching. Nawcom made a bit of modification to few of the kexts and the way how it boots. You'll be still needing Marvin's patcher after installing it !

@ Prasys, i tried the AMD version of the DVD, but it gives a error about the SuperNForceATA kext...
I think something went wrong when making the Preboot.dmg?

Could you give me your variant of your nForceATA. That one has been compiled from source code directly. Maybe the traditional nForceATA works for a lot of people. I don't really know paul , cause I don't have oSX installed on my AMD PC as its an ATI-AMD chipset and not nvidia-ati.

I've used this one, http://www.mediafire.com/?q2jmln1ymdg
It works for me...

Well, they didnt wait a second - thread is deleted.
:D

Anyway, I tried EE, got Still waiting for root device error.
Then I tried booting with -v -f -s -x, I got KP sayin somethin about pmap memory.
Guess it's kernel thats bugging me.
