Hmm, i don`t really have much experience with it but - when i patch iTunes ( the newest one ) with ASU, it detects some cpuid`s and does the patching ( on the same file ) - while AMD Patcher doesnt detect any - anyway, it works in both cases. i wonder what`s causing the difference ?

lateralusman 12-12-2008 06:33 PM

It seems that the icon AMD Patcher adds to the patched files doesn't say if you backup the patched updates and reinstall OSX. It just reverts to the original icon.

Hows the work on AMD Patcher 0.32 going zephyroth?

zephyroth 03-20-2009 12:25 PM

...

You still use this application ?
I thought after the release of the voodoo kernel it would become obsolete ...
If there are more people who want me to update it then ... I will continue the work.
The sources are waiting for me.

erick2red 03-20-2009 02:35 PM

what about the ASU app? i'm thinking about make a AMD build an i think i would need it? don't you?

zephyroth 03-20-2009 02:45 PM

ok ok ...

I was almost sure that to work on these apps was a waste of time since the release of the voodoo kernel.
But maybe it's a mistake.

As soon as I have time I will continue the work on them.

erick2red 03-20-2009 03:45 PM

hey, let's put this clear, if isn't required for AMD build since Voodoo Kernel, then ok, you shouldn't waste your effort on that, but if isn't required????

zephyroth 03-20-2009 04:39 PM

I've seen here and there some people who have some trouble running the voodoo kernel. But very a few people ... Prolly it's not because of the kernel but after some manipulation or corrupted files ... I don't know.

Regarding the number of people who have downloaded my apps (not as many as I wish ... :)), I think that there are obsolete.

You know what ? I will open a new thread to see if people really need my apps and we'll see !

erick2red 03-20-2009 04:49 PM

good idead

Kernel Panic

I am trying to update LawlessPPC 10.5.4 to 10.5.7 by patching the update.

My kernel was 9.4 but i updated it to 9.5 Voodoo.

Everytime I try to patch the combo update I get a kernel panic.

I just installed andys pack for 9.6 but the same thing happens and when I type uname -a to check which kernel it is, it still says 9.5

I'm stuck! Don't know what to do next.

My system is:

Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
AMD Phenom 9750 Quad Core 2.4GHz
Crucial Ballistix Red 4GB DDR2 800
EVGA GTX260 896MB Graphics

Thanks for this. I've had quite a bit of trouble running Marvin's AMD patcher (system freezes every time) and I look forward to giving this a try.

Is there a way to run this package on the not-currently-active OSX instance? I would like to patch a partition other than my main one, but it seems to just run silently and automatically on the current installation.

stanca 01-01-2010 03:25 PM

Doesn't work for my system too:AMD Sempron 2600,amd athlon 3000 64 single core 2.0Ghz cpu,K8M800 motherboard,2Gb RAM DDR 400Mgz,Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 256mb AGPX8 gpu.When I patch the 10.5.8 combo upgrade the system refuses to boot anymore,even with 9.50 voodoo kernel..Does it work better with ASU 0.5 beta?I didn't try it yet.

Imkantus 01-02-2010 12:17 AM

stanca, You do not need to patch CPU Opcode manually anymore, with using 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel.
Just place the Voodoo Binary on your filesystem with name different to mach_kernel, for example /voodoo_kernel - then make sure Disabler.kext is installed, apply the 10.5.8 Combo Update and boot using "/voodoo_kernel -v" next time (might need a second attempt to boot up after update). Good luck. :)

stanca 01-02-2010 01:30 AM

OK,thanks.I'll try that too.:)

stanca 01-04-2010 12:10 PM

It didn't work either. No kernel panic, after boot flag with -v -x it hangs only to:
"warning:skipping personalities in blacklisted kext com.apple.Dont_Steal_Mac_OS_X."

Imkantus 01-04-2010 01:23 PM

Can you maybe post a full screen-snapshot, where it hangs up on boot?

stanca 01-04-2010 05:35 PM

It hangs up with every boot flags the same(-v mach_kernel.voodoo;mach_kernel.voodoo -v;etc...),anyway I tried and reinstalled for 3 times today, now I stay out of 10.5.8 combo updates for a while,I had enough for a day.Maybe someone with a system like mine had a successful upgrade and he'll show me how in the safest way.Untill then I'll stick with 10.5.2 version for a while, maybe my old system hardware doesn't support such an upgrade, directly to 10.5.8 version.

My snowleopard itunes crashed,i hope this'll work for me.

d_spice 02-22-2010 11:31 PM

Will this correct issues with Apps in Snow Leopard?
