How Are you guys installing lion? I've tried to do iatkos l2 inside of snow leopard but it gives me an error half way through. I have also tried Niresh Lion 10.7.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. An in depth guide would be pretty awesome. I have an AMD Athlon II P360 dual-core processor (64-bit). Also I have my wireless card working but it only sees networks that are extremely close unlike in windows and Ubuntu. Please assist if you can.

Ok, let me get this straight... Those of you running non Bulldozer CPU's have it working but 32-bit? (no Finder app?)
|
Quote:
Finder is a pure 64-Bit App in Lion, so yes it works. Running 32-Bit software requires the SYSENTER opcode, which is not avaible on AMD CPUs when 64-Bit is enabled & software beeing lunched in compatibilty mode. There is no workaround for this atm. |
Hey guys
I am getting I/O errors from my Harddrives under Lion. Just wondering what kexts ATI/AMD SATA people are using. All is working ok with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. |

Photoshop CS6 is crashing at the start (didn't even start, just log the crash) because of the lack of ssse3 instructions processor (phenom II X4). Is there any way to bypass this and run the software?

Still no update on 64 bit or iCloud :(

Thankyou. Seems to have fixed the problem so far.

Hi all :3
Can someone guide me to the correct way to install Lion on an AMD PC, here the specs: AMD 1090T (Family 16 Model 10) XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 12GB RAM GA-890GPA-UD3H I'm trying to install a Vanilla Lion 10.7.0 (i think) from usb. I've had Snow Leopard previously, with no problems. I was using this kernel flags to start installer, and Bronzovka 10.7.4 Kernel: arch=i386 -f -v UseKernelCache=no npci=0x2000 -legacy |

Installed using iAtkos L2,Chimera 1.9 bootloader. Kernel Flags -legacy -v arch=i386 npci=0x3000 GraphicsEnabler=Yes Try those same kernel flags and see if it works :) use V4 Kernel all other kernels lag a big on this system. Need any help pm me :) |

With a SSSE3 emulator, Phenom users would be able to run as good as bulldozer's?
I took a look at the source of sse3 emulator for AnV's kernel (10.6.8) the procedure to inject the interrupt handler is the same in 10.7? With a help from ArchC or simple C -> ASM for easing the task of writing the "emulator", do you think this task can be achieved? |

qemu - kvm as a processor emulator have a bunch of ssse3 implementations in C, it seems pretty well to me, guess it works fine. I can try to get the ASM for that instructions, but I'm not sure yet how to make the osx kernel use them =/

Well guys I've got to say I'm impressed. After running SL for ages on my AMD rig I have been watching this thread for weeks. Last weekend I gave it a go and within a few days Lion 10.7.4 has become my main boot (still got W7 & SL).
Specs are: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 6850 GA-890GPA-UD3H M-Audio Delta 2496 Complete setup working great so far, but 32 bit mode only. What are chances on 64 bit kernel coming?? |

Everything seems to work (except Final Cut X <--is it 64bit?) Going to do a CCC and install the combo update 10.7.4 next. :) I also have OS X 10.6.8 and Windows 7 on same drive (160gig Intel SSD) triple booting. http://xtreme-toyz.net/Screen%20Shot...53.21%20PM.png EDIT: I updated to 10.7.4 using raw's latest kernel. The HD light would not stop blinking so I booted back to OS X 10.6.8, too much HD activity ain't good for SSD....Is there any way of turning off Indexing? http://xtreme-toyz.net/Screen%20Shot...01.46%20AM.png EDIT 2: I searched on 10.6.8 for file size greater than 20mb and found kernelcache. Not sure if that was the issue but I booted back on 10.7.4 and the HD stopped the blinking. |

hello, "pmVersion=0" or other is useless, unless you're a sleepenabler somewhere! |

One disadvantage would of course be that using an emulation will decrease peformance a little... Quote:

For details check it's whitepaper: http://xnu-dev.googlecode.com/files/SSE3%20Emulator.pdf Someone around here who has an enslaved asm guru locked-up in the basement?!^^ :p Quote:

hello R: A: W: X86 I're trying to understand (not easy for me), a sure thing I noticed in doing performance testing, your kernel optimized to look good with performance similar to w7, also, by testing the Xeon in 32 bit, I find yourself exactly the same bugs on AMD. Hence my question, is this related to the instruction set (SSE2/SSE3 etc.) or just the 32 bit mode which is very poorly managed by Leo 10.7. Now, something I do not know how sse3 and 64 bit are they related ? it is certain that my Phenom x6 uncloker to 3.01 is better than my i7 875K to 2.93 , find the mistake! € 100 vs € 350 !! Thank you anyway for your job and your patience. Traduction google . :) |

I am now going to revert back to 10.7.2 and install 10.7.3 combo update and test that one to see if I get same results as 10.7.4 |

I will not care about performance issues atm, just want to get it working, if it does, then I'll try to optimize. |
How can I disable these from boot?

I left OS X Lion running for a day, when I tried to run certain apps they would just hang (icon bouncing) like Software Update, and other tasks, like copying an app to Applications folder from a DMG, etc etc.. Wondering if it's Finder.app causing this, since I can copy the files from Terminal with no issues.

Hi everyone. This is my first post.
I would like to work Lion in my laptop to test Xcode4 for iOS. This is my objective. Then I tried to virtualize with VirtualBox and VMWare to work Lion but I coudn't it. This is my CPU: http://i47.tinypic.com/35i1ter.jpg First of all, is it possible? I've read a los of pages of this thread, I promise but I'm beginner in this field. Could someone explain me any steps to start to work it? Saying me if this post should be in other thread please. Sorry for my English. Thank you very much! |

Is anybody else experiencing constant HD activity? Not sure if it's writing but all that activity is not good/safe for SSD :-/
Also, after a few minutes if I try to run certain apps they stay bouncing on the dock and never open. (apps like Software Update, TextEdit, and others. Tasks like copying using Finder also hangs. Finder.app could be the cause of this? Im using the 32-bit version from DP2) |
