thank you for the advice about dsdt, last time when I use 10.6.x I also use the dsdt from this forum and it works perfectly, I think I just got lucky at that time. But, I'm still newbie about these stuff so I need to learn it step by step slowly, besides I'm just a student from faculty of Business & Economic :) |
Hye there. flip360, i don't know if this a sillyquestion but. is there anyway to disable trackpad and onboard keyboard while using wireless mouse and keyboard? Thank you. and i just receive by caddy and installed the 2nd hdd! :)
|
one more thing did anyone also having problem with sound while watching youtube or any flash video. there is sound for few mins, after that there is nothing. sound card still working. only sound on the video. i'm tried both voodoo and normal audio kexts. still the same problem. :(

About dsdt, I feel that Mac OS is more and more strict with the dsdt. My dsdt is more than 10000 lines long, and the acpi dsdt specification is hundreds of pages long. So hardly can anyone go over the whole dsdt and no one can make sure their dsdt contains no error. So there's still a long way to perfect Black Apple. |

about the trackpad and battery, do you have the proper kexts for it? my trackpad isn't working from the first time |

About my trackpad, I got it recognized as a mouse. You may try this to get it recognized as a trackpad. http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-com...r-mac-osx.html I tried this kext, but it told me "Your hardware Version 2 is not supported". But there are people who use other Asus K series succeeded. So I think maybe K70IO has a different trackpad than yours. I suggest you try it. Besides, within ApplePS2Controller.kext, youmay find ApplePS2Keyboard.kext, ApplePS2Mouse.kext and ApplePS2Trackpad.kext. You may replace and combine them. That's how I got my reversed Command Key and Option(Alt) Key right. There's also a kext called VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext which successfully recognized my trackpad as a trackpad. But with this kext, I got kernel panic if I touch my trackpad. Maybe yours won't KP with it. |

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/top...st__80#entry95 At the bottom of floor #95, there are two attachments. Modify your dsdt following the instruction in the smaller attachment. Maybe you may modify them after your exam.:) |

same here :) i just put an audio jack in (microphone, headphones) and out, thats how i fix it :P I have full battery info in system profiler along with tmperature, hdd, gpu, cpu readings with the dsdt and kext for 10.8 About the trackpad, something is changed in 10.8 so the kext is not really working, maybe together we find a solution. As for the K40/50 differences the best thing to do is to make your own DSDT for your specific hardware as already is told and someone suggested :) Cheers |

The trackpad, I tried many kexts for ElanTech Trackpad. They all told me "Your hardware Version 2 is not yet supported". Is it because K40/50 has a different trackpad from K70IO? |

p/s: how did youe discover that? ^_^ |

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nt7e20admnivqux/BjxSdyCkNr i give two option. Option 1 : Using Applehda and legacyhda. copy both of these files into /System/Library/Extension and repair cache and permission Option 2: Using VoodooHda (PLEASE REMOVE Applehda and legacyhda. first if you want to use this. If still not working, you may want to create you own dsdt. use the tutorial from first page. cheers! :) |

Once I used VoodooHDA but there were noises as if you're listening to a radio at a wrong frequency. Also I tried the 44100Hz and 48000Hz in Audio MIDI Setup. I've always been using my own dsdt, and fixed a lot of problems with dsdt. A few days ago I got it patched by iDsdt with my own codec file. That's how I got my earphone right with HDAEnabler.kext and modified AppleHDA.kext. However the AppleHDA was downloaded from the Internet so I don't know how should I modify AppleHDA to make the built-in speaker working. |

The most annoying thing is iCloud and iMessage. I cannot sign in into iCloud. What about you? Someone say Chamelon may fix this. But I've always been using BootThink and I love the style of BootThink. However BootThink developement has stopped and nowhere can I find the author nor the source code. One more thing is the display. Now I'm using 10.8.2 and my laptop display is recognized as a desktop display. Attachment 1724 Besides, I cannot adjust the brightness of it. I tried EDID and it didn't work. How can I get it recognized as a Laptop Display like in the picture? Attachment 1726 iCloud, audio, trackpad and brightness are the only four problems on my way to perfect hackintonish. |

first - install/copy VoodooHDA.prefPane to Library/PreferencePanes second - install/copy VoodooHdaSettingsLoader third - open system preference panel. at the bottom you will see vodoohda panel. go inside there, and tick "Enable SSE2". (You may also want to set Input Gain to zero in the Micropohone side to remove audio loop" For AppleHDA you may want to edit IOPCIPrimaryMatch and LayoutID to match you system. that was how i do it last time when i'm trying to use applehda. but i think, the Applehda kext which given in the zip on first page is good enough(same with the file i gave last time) Files needed attached . Have a try! :) |

I just tried VoodooHDA.kext and it recognized no audio device. So strange. I've always been using VoodooHDA until 10.7.1. The Fn key currently only works with F7 and F8. Fn+F7 for turning on/off internal display and F8 for kp. Today I modified a lot on my dsdt and made my LCD built-in and recognized as a laptop display. But, I still cannot change the brightness. This one is my screenshot. Attachment 1728 and this one is from Internet. Attachment 1729 There's no option for adjust brightness at all. Besides, if I tried to adjust brightness under Mac, when I reboot to BIOS, screen would change to the most bright state. |
Alright, you may want to try to install voodoohda using the latest voodoohda installer. Then replace the kext with that I gave. :)

External Monitor
Hey @flip360, have you ever have a problem when trying to connect an external LCD monitor? It seems like i have to restart my laptop in order the system to detect the monitor. Any thought?
|
Secondary monitor detection doesn't require a Reboot
Hey guys... like flip, it's been a while since I posted here. Been using the X50IN with Mountain Lion with beauty so far.
Quote:
Just on a side note, you should not remove the secondary display after you have it detected. Doing so will disable proper hardware acceleration of the video card, and also will disable display power-saving. |
Oh damn it, i didn't know about that key. Thanks!
Anyway Mavericks works like charm. few pictures on my blog http://thefiztec.my/blog/?p=556 also if anyone has trouble with audio. use this kext. [as attached] Enjoy!:D |

Hey guys,
I upgraded to Mavericks as well, and after some trouble, I finally got it working. In a nutshell, you need to be using the latest version of FakeSMC, and ensure there is no Kexsts that generate errors during the boot phase. Failing to do this will cause the system to hang on boot, and will be waiting for DSMOS forever. But anyway, I have a minor problem with mine: - No sound - Lost trackpad (keyboard is still working though) Anyone can help to this? |
