Recently, I used iada64, ubuntu, dsdtEditor and iDsdt regenerated my dsdt with mcp79 audio and GT120M patch. I found dsdt really useful. You may try modify your own dsdt instead of downloading one. Dsdt is unique to every model of motherboard no matter how similar their hardware is. It means, you may download a dsdt from others whose laptop is k40in but never from someone whose laptop is k50in.

I'm just using the kexts from this link http://www.osx86.net/view/3293-%5Bne...orking_ml.html combine with original IOAudiofamily.kext from mountain lion. you may try to modify it so the built-in speaker can working ;)

thank you for the advice about dsdt, last time when I use 10.6.x I also use the dsdt from this forum and it works perfectly, I think I just got lucky at that time. But, I'm still newbie about these stuff so I need to learn it step by step slowly, besides I'm just a student from faculty of Business & Economic :)

hafiz689 11-18-2012 09:07 AM

one more thing did anyone also having problem with sound while watching youtube or any flash video. there is sound for few mins, after that there is nothing. sound card still working. only sound on the video. i'm tried both voodoo and normal audio kexts. still the same problem. :(

The kexts you gave me worked! Thank you very much. But it just worked for my earphone but not my built-in speaker. Did you modify it and got it work for your built-in speaker?
About dsdt, I feel that Mac OS is more and more strict with the dsdt. My dsdt is more than 10000 lines long, and the acpi dsdt specification is hundreds of pages long. So hardly can anyone go over the whole dsdt and no one can make sure their dsdt contains no error. So there's still a long way to perfect Black Apple.

Like I told you, the built-in speaker is not working yet. I'm using simbadda speaker on the output, so as long as I'm home its fine with me. that's why I'm not trying to modify it, after all I'm in the middle of an exam. ;)
about the trackpad and battery, do you have the proper kexts for it? my trackpad isn't working from the first time

My battery is recognized only under SnowLeopard. Currently, the system tells me "Current power: Battery", but "Battery state: No battery". But it's ok to use both battery and AC power.
About my trackpad, I got it recognized as a mouse. You may try this to get it recognized as a trackpad. http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-com...r-mac-osx.html
I tried this kext, but it told me "Your hardware Version 2 is not supported". But there are people who use other Asus K series succeeded. So I think maybe K70IO has a different trackpad than yours. I suggest you try it. Besides, within ApplePS2Controller.kext, youmay find ApplePS2Keyboard.kext, ApplePS2Mouse.kext and ApplePS2Trackpad.kext. You may replace and combine them. That's how I got my reversed Command Key and Option(Alt) Key right.
There's also a kext called VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext which successfully recognized my trackpad as a trackpad. But with this kext, I got kernel panic if I touch my trackpad. Maybe yours won't KP with it.

just want to inform you, I already installed Mountain lion using myHack on my Asus K4OIN (almost had the same hardware specification as K50IN). the nVidia graphic was recognised perfectly but the sound, trackpad, Network devices and battery was not work. then installed some kexts. the wifi, battery, and sound is working with the external jack only (I'm not using the dsdt.aml yet), after got the sound working I tried to run some stability test (opening many tabs with safari, opening youtube, Facebook, other forums and running iTunes etc.) anyway, the result is I got kernel panic. don't know what the cause is, but I'm guessing maybe because the amount of Ram is full or because the battery kext (last kext I installed). anyone know's the solution for this problem? ;)

oh yeah, one last thing for flip360.. After the fresh install, I tried using the dsdt.aml for 10.8 (on the first page). when boot I got stuck at "PCI Configuration Begin", after using boot flag "npci=0x2000" I still got stuck somewhere before I can get to the Root or terminal to remove it. :)

sorry for the long comment, hope anyone knows how to solve my problem. thank you :)

Hey, I just found the solution to my battery. I think you may try it.

At the bottom of floor #95, there are two attachments.
Modify your dsdt following the instruction in the smaller attachment.
Maybe you may modify them after your exam.:)

hey there,

same here :)
i just put an audio jack in (microphone, headphones) and out, thats how i fix it :P

I have full battery info in system profiler along with tmperature, hdd, gpu, cpu readings with the dsdt and kext for 10.8

About the trackpad, something is changed in 10.8 so the kext is not really working, maybe together we find a solution.

As for the K40/50 differences the best thing to do is to make your own DSDT for your specific hardware as already is told and someone suggested :)

Cheers

Would you please give me your kext about ALC662? Now I only got it working with an earphone. Without earphone, there's still no sound. Thank you.
The trackpad, I tried many kexts for ElanTech Trackpad. They all told me "Your hardware Version 2 is not yet supported". Is it because K40/50 has a different trackpad from K70IO?

try this
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nt7e20admnivqux/BjxSdyCkNr

i give two option.
Option 1 : Using Applehda and legacyhda. copy both of these files into /System/Library/Extension and repair cache and permission

Option 2: Using VoodooHda (PLEASE REMOVE Applehda and legacyhda. first if you want to use this.

If still not working, you may want to create you own dsdt. use the tutorial from first page.
cheers! :)

Thank you for your advise.
Once I used VoodooHDA but there were noises as if you're listening to a radio at a wrong frequency. Also I tried the 44100Hz and 48000Hz in Audio MIDI Setup.
I've always been using my own dsdt, and fixed a lot of problems with dsdt. A few days ago I got it patched by iDsdt with my own codec file. That's how I got my earphone right with HDAEnabler.kext and modified AppleHDA.kext. However the AppleHDA was downloaded from the Internet so I don't know how should I modify AppleHDA to make the built-in speaker working.

The only thing I can do is to use ApplePS2Controller.kext to get it working as a mouse. But it's really a disappointing thing that I cannot get it working as a trackpad and scroll horizonally.

The most annoying thing is iCloud and iMessage. I cannot sign in into iCloud. What about you?
Someone say Chamelon may fix this. But I've always been using BootThink and I love the style of BootThink. However BootThink developement has stopped and nowhere can I find the author nor the source code.

One more thing is the display. Now I'm using 10.8.2 and my laptop display is recognized as a desktop display.
Attachment 1724
Besides, I cannot adjust the brightness of it. I tried EDID and it didn't work.
How can I get it recognized as a Laptop Display like in the picture?
Attachment 1726

iCloud, audio, trackpad and brightness are the only four problems on my way to perfect hackintonish.

oh man. i'm sorry. i forgot to adrres that noise problem. it is easy to solve.

first - install/copy VoodooHDA.prefPane to Library/PreferencePanes
second - install/copy VoodooHdaSettingsLoader
third - open system preference panel. at the bottom you will see vodoohda panel. go inside there, and tick "Enable SSE2". (You may also want to set Input Gain to zero in the Micropohone side to remove audio loop"

For AppleHDA you may want to edit IOPCIPrimaryMatch and LayoutID to match you system. that was how i do it last time when i'm trying to use applehda. but i think, the Applehda kext which given in the zip on first page is good enough(same with the file i gave last time)

Files needed attached . Have a try! :)

about iCloud and iMessage. sorry . i don't use it. so don't really know. maybe flip360 know about it. about the brightness. can't you use the FN + F5/F6 to adjust the brightness? or whatever button it is. i use that to adjust the brightness.

Thanks again for your advice.
I just tried VoodooHDA.kext and it recognized no audio device. So strange. I've always been using VoodooHDA until 10.7.1.
The Fn key currently only works with F7 and F8.
Fn+F7 for turning on/off internal display and F8 for kp.
Today I modified a lot on my dsdt and made my LCD built-in and recognized as a laptop display. But, I still cannot change the brightness.
This one is my screenshot.
Attachment 1728
and this one is from Internet.
Attachment 1729
There's no option for adjust brightness at all.
Besides, if I tried to adjust brightness under Mac, when I reboot to BIOS, screen would change to the most bright state.

hafiz689 11-26-2012 08:58 PM

Alright, you may want to try to install voodoohda using the latest voodoohda installer. Then replace the kext with that I gave. :)

Why dont you use the software thats in the tutorial for 10.6.x on the first page? works here on 10.8, i use it for the audio buttons ;)

10.8.3 released. list down everybody your concerns here.
I can't even install mountain lion here in my K40in.

External Monitor

Hey @flip360, have you ever have a problem when trying to connect an external LCD monitor? It seems like i have to restart my laptop in order the system to detect the monitor. Any thought?

kokozedman 10-24-2013 05:43 AM

Secondary monitor detection doesn't require a Reboot

Hey guys... like flip, it's been a while since I posted here. Been using the X50IN with Mountain Lion with beauty so far.

--> Open the System Preferences, go to the Display, then press the Option key: a button will appear that says "Detect Displays". You don't need to reboot in order to detect your secondary display.

Just on a side note, you should not remove the secondary display after you have it detected. Doing so will disable proper hardware acceleration of the video card, and also will disable display power-saving.

hafiz689 10-25-2013 02:56 AM

Oh damn it, i didn't know about that key. Thanks!

Anyway Mavericks works like charm. few pictures on my blog http://thefiztec.my/blog/?p=556

also if anyone has trouble with audio. use this kext. [as attached]

Enjoy!:D

i just noticed your signature, did you change your CPU to T9900? How is the performance?

Yes, I did upgrade that may be 2 years. It's somewhat behaving like a early/lowend i5 CPU. Unfortunately, we're limited to 4GB in terms of RAM because of the DDR2.

kokozedman 11-02-2013 01:53 PM

Hey guys,

I upgraded to Mavericks as well, and after some trouble, I finally got it working. In a nutshell, you need to be using the latest version of FakeSMC, and ensure there is no Kexsts that generate errors during the boot phase.
Failing to do this will cause the system to hang on boot, and will be waiting for DSMOS forever.

But anyway, I have a minor problem with mine:
- No sound
- Lost trackpad (keyboard is still working though)

Anyone can help to this?
