Also, after a few minutes if I try to run certain apps they stay bouncing on the dock and never open. (apps like Software Update, TextEdit, and others. Tasks like copying using Finder also hangs. Finder.app could be the cause of this? Im using the 32-bit version from DP2)

You probably haven't patched xpchelper. If you read back through the thread you'll find instructions. Unless you already did that and it's something else entirely lol :)

I remember something about the zz folder, flag nouchg? Do I have to do it every time I boot? uhm...

EDIT: I forgot to do it after I upgraded with Update Combined 10.7.4 (could that have caused it to reset it?)

anonomys209 06-07-2012 06:37 AM

I don't recall whether or not I had to do it again after the Combo Update, but I'd say it'd be worth a shot haha

The apps not launching and copy/paste function was all related to xpchelper for me.

spidy86 06-07-2012 07:30 AM

has anyone tried the lion kernel for mountain lion??

I had a 2nd one I hadn't uchg'd... Problem solved! Thanks for the reminder!

I delelted the 2nd one, and created a blank file, then did the chflags uchg on it. Everything working as expected.

EDIT: Ok, so I fixed the issue with xpchelper, but now I still have the HD light going berzerk! I have a feeling this is killing my SSD ....fast!

10.7.3 with v6 kernel wasn't doing this, but I can't boot 10.7.4 with v6 kernel, I get ___kernel___ errors... Any clues?

Asgrad 06-07-2012 08:30 PM

Hey guys, anyone with 10.7.4 and v6 kernel flagged the cache, deleted the report crash and still can't copy/move/delete/empty trash? Can anyone help me? I did the whole uchg flags on xpchelper cache and deleted the crash report files, didn't help...

I need Help!!! I have snow leopard and windows 7, with iatkos l2 on another partition but I can't boot it even when use the mach_kernels.

m4f1050 06-08-2012 12:00 AM

How can I find out what is hammering my harddrive? I checked "ps aux" and all seems normal. I can "df" a few times in a minute and see my free space go down. I have installed 10.7.4 twice but had to restore to 10.7.3.. I did CCC'd it onto a 2.5" sata drive, which I will be using for testing. I don't want to mess up my SSD.

EDIT: I installed SONAR FILE MONITOR and there is NOTHING showing up while the HD light blinks non-stop. I disabled Spotlight completely. I even emptied the /var/log and /Library/Log folders and I chflags uchg them and the blinking doesn't stop! UGH!

EDIT 2: Well I just found out my 10.7.3 install started doing it also. And when I booted 10.7.4 it wasn't doing it. I will capture everything I can (ps, top, etc etc) in both scenarios and compare it to see what could be causing this...

m4f1050 06-09-2012 04:51 AM

Ok, an update... On 32-bit OS X Lion I have installed everything I have on my OS X Snow Leopard except 2 things (well, 3...)

Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Installer starts but quits at the beginning.. 64-bits?)
Final Cut Pro X (64-bits)
Xcode 4.3.2 (I installed Xcode 4.2.1 which is 32-bits)

If we get the SSSE3 emulator I think we are golden!

In RE: to the HD activity, it is a hit & miss situation for me. If when I boot OS X Lion I get HD activity on the login screen I simply reboot the machine and usually the 2nd time around it has no HD activity. I compared on both occasions with and without hd activity "dmesg" and "ps aux" and only difference were in dmesg on the one without HD activity there was an fsck_hd ran... I am still trying to figure out if this is the case always. Will let you all know later..

EDIT: I copied all the Adobe stuff on /Applications and from /Library/Application Support and I got Photoshop CS 4 working. So I would only be missing 1 app which I never really use (Final Cut Pro X) I think I can use this OS X Lion as my daily OS.. Nice... Good job RAW X86! Your 10.7.4 Kernel seems to be holding pretty good on 32-bits and my AMD Phenom II X4!

I've currently got 10.6.8 running perfectly in VirtualBox, on an AMD Phenom II system.
However, I've scoured the net and grabbed everything I can find, including several bootloaders (Chimera 1.9.2-1, etc.) and Lion all-in-one images (iATKOS_L2, and Niresh12495-Lion-10.7.3-V2).

For the life of me I cannot get anywhere with Lion on VirtualBox.

Please, ham4ever, could you write a quick howto, or link to where you got your information from.

Thank you, :)

I have no issues getting 10.6.8 to work in a VM but I couldn't get lion either.

Thanks

Bing 06-11-2012 05:22 PM

i installed lion on an external hd via macbook, replaced the kernel with "bronzovkAnVoodoo_0_9_26",
i was able to successfully boot into lion desktop with command "-legacy -v arch=i386 npic=0x3000"
but the finder seems to be not working, i tried the dp2 finder, no luck either...
i've got 9800 gt, it was natively supported in 10.6.7 on my hackpro, i got full resolution, but everything seems to be very flashy...

can you please give me any suggestion for what to do to make my 10.7.4 work? thanks a lot in advance!

You need to rename (or delete Finder.app from /System/Library/CoreServices and use the DP2 version which is 32-bit)

Papier101 06-12-2012 03:45 PM

Is it possible to update from Snow Leopard to Lion 10.7.4 on AMD?

m4f1050 06-12-2012 08:31 PM

Snow Leopard is 10.6.x and Lion is 10.7.x

I believe you can't update from one main version to another unless you reinstall over it, and if you don't erase the partition it should keep your files.

Any chance this is written in english somewhere? Even with Google Translate, I can't quite follow it.

anonomys209 06-20-2012 12:06 AM

...so still no 64bit app support on AMD Lion yet..

I'm starting to think anyone who knows how to work on this sort of thing has given up :( Still waiting to be able to run Lion on my main office computer (need FCPX, 64bit only) and I have no idea where to start or I'd work on it myself.

...anyone...??

Hi. I installed 10.7.2 through Snow Leopard using iATKOS L2 and installing to a separate partition and replacing the kernel. I have an AMD Phenom 9850 BE. I have read that my processor isn't even supported at all yet I can run the operating system fine, with the exception of a couple of problems. After the operating system has been running for a while, say 20 minutes, the stock applications do not launch. They sit bouncing on the dock forever until I force close them. Another problem is about the same time finder will not do file operations. When the window for say copying comes up it just sits there at copied Zero of XX.MB. I also cannot update to 10.7.3 or 10.7.4, I cannot boot if I do.

Hi..i followed these guides
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...ic=278181&st=0
http://www.hack-my-mac.fr/index.php/...r-pc-amd#24625

i had a working sl 10.6.8 with chameleon bootloader + legacy kernel
and plist with description:

<key>Kernel</key>
<string>legacy_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>arch=i386</string>
<key>Theme</key>
<string>LoginToLion</string>
<key>Rename Partition</key>
<string>"System Reserved" Windows-8</string>
<key>Boot Banner</key>
<string>No</string>

Step 1. now as per guide i installed iatkosL2 and replaced mach_kernel with Brazonka's-v4 made the new kernel invisible, replaced finder

now i allready have chamleon installed so i didnt touched it
and tried passing: -legacy -v arch=i386 npci=0x2000 and once with npci=0x3000
-legacy usekernelcache=no -v -f

chameleon gave "cant find legacy_kernel"

Step 2. changed legcay_kernel to mach_kernel
tried to boot lion with -v but restarts saying starting mac os

can anyone tell me what do i need to do?

My Specs:
Mobo: AMD 890GXM-G65, BIOS - v1.11, mfg: MSI, Proc: PhenomII X4 955, 3.2GHz, Instr - SSE(1,2,3,4)

hello,

it comes from your startup partition that uses kernel_legacy, boot with mach_kernel -legacy npci=0x2000 -v

You have put your chameleon to date?

It could be that the kernel you are using is not working with your system!

I would try a other one.. ;)

probably with your system the FakeSMC.kext is loaded or it is not installed. Importantly which you installed the correct version and which installation place. If you start Lion with usekernelcache=yes, also the Kexte must lie in /S/L/E, since otherwise Lion ignores the drivers in /E/E. If you with usekernelcache=No start then must all drivers in S/L/E lie!! If your system to the same places stops then deletes intelcpupowermenagment.kext from S/L/E and takes the SleepEnabler: kext with nullpowermanagement.kext then it should actually start. I had also had the same problem

ok as ive understood ill try this.........
Step 1. delete intelcpupowermenagment.kext from S/L/E and replace with nullpowermanagement.kext and SleepEnabler: kext
Step 2. i will check my fakesmc is in S/L/E

anyways this is how i installed my Lion............plz see if its all ok!

4. EVOreboot

8. Realtek RTL8111/8168

then replaced mach_kernel with Brazonka's-v4 made the new kernel invisible, and replaced finder
Upgraded Chameleon to 2.1

tried booting with : -legacy -v arch=i386 npci=0x2000
-legacy -v arch=i386 npci=0x3000
-legacy usekernelcache=no -v -f

My Specs for SNOW LEOPARD:

hello ,

A suivre ................

@frisco2

hallo,

Es ist wahr, dass die Google-Übersetzung nicht groß ist, habe ich nicht alles verstehen?
Welches Programm sprichst du? Handel und was Sie erreichen wollen?
