OK, so i can say that ASUS-K50IN-BootCD.iso v1.1 boots perfecly Hazard distro and I can get to desktop in 15 minutes. 10.6.2. off course.

BUT system starts without BootCD only with -x... Ethernet native, battery ok
To every one reading I have to specify that I'm barely total newbie :)

Any suggestion about kext to choose in Hazard during install?
I'm going to try and prey, which is useful to learn, but any suggestion will be welcome!

NEXT STEP!

Now i can install direcly from Hazard distro, just adding cpus=1

After plain install, no kext selected, i can boot with -x

Then i copy the Extra folder and NVenabler in E/E and kextutil to fix permission.

Now i can boot. Very GOOD! In just three boot!

It's time for QE/CI and wireless

just try again, sometimes it maybe the errors without fixed DSDT

Boot the Retail DVD:
When the bootloader ask you for rescan, press ENTER.
Go to boot options (f8), Swap disks, then press F5 to rescan drive. When the name of the DVD appears, press ENTER.

K50in - sx025c

Hey guys.

I am a newbie to this forum so this is my first post. I have been a long established Apple user and love Mac OS X, but have been considering a Hackintosh recently.

I have been searching around for the K50IN and have come accross this: K50IN-SX025C.

http://greatdigitalart.com/index.php?dispa...product_id=1310

I can see that the graphics card is the same but the chipset appears to be different and so does the CPU.

Does anyone have any experience with this laptop? Anyone know if it will work?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

ellnic

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like this may be worth a go :D

I have an original 10.6 DVD - From what I have read, this will work with the Asus Boot CD? Or is it preferred to have the one by Hazard?

I wouldn't use VGA out - but wireless could be an issue - I have a Sonnet Aria card that I could use - might order the Dell 1490 a/b/g mentioned on page 1 - although I would like 802.11n.

Cheers :)

EDIT: Sorry, meant to ask - is your lappy the Intel GM45 Express Chipset?
